I’ve tried plenty on the menu here and nothing has yet to disappoint. Would recommend their white cut poached chicken, lamb or goose clay pot, and bringing a group! Personally I’ve yet to find (any) southern Chinese restaurants in Seattle that do homestyle dishes that aren’t as spice-forward as other provinces. However, H Bistro does it splendidly, they’ve been family-owned and open for 8 years and going strong — owner is always friendly and it’s never too crowded!

Came here for the roasted duck. It was super tasty. The skin is very crispy. We also had clay pot menu and it was also super delicious. Choi sum stir fried was very tasty.
After having several Chinese restaurants around China town, I have to say H bistro is the best.

Very delicious and authentic Cantonese food! The best walnut shrimp in the United States. The pulled chicken is very flavorful. The pea vine is my favorite vegetable at H Bistro!

This is the third time we went to H Bistro. The first 2 times were amazing. This 3rd time was not so great. We ordered the Chinese Sausage and Bacon Mushroom Lotus Leaf steamed rice (腊味合蒸) and we only got fatty pieces of Chinese Bacon.
I would not recommend this item. (I recommend the Pork Spare Rib with Rice, Chicken, and Salted Egg Yolk with Pumpkin)
Edit: We called and they refunded the dish. Changing to 4-star for service.

Cantonese home cooking restaurant ran by dad and son. Cleaner food, less oily and saucy, than other Cantonese restaurants but still flavorful. Comfort food for my wife and I.
– Free Range Chicken (Gui Fei Ji) 4/5: Tender and not dry. Sauce can use some scallion.
– Japanese Tofu on Pea Sprouts 5/5: Tofu was really good! It’s soft egg tofu on the inside with a layer of tofu skin on outside. Pea sprouts aren’t in season but still pretty good for out of season.
– Salted Egg Yolk Pumpkin 4/5: I like the pumpkin can be a little softer but batter was right amount and egg yolk was good.
– Steamed Egg with Clams 5/5: Steamed egg had perfect amount of water! Definitely like the one my grandma used to make. The clams can be a bit fresher.
They have a call ahead menu for other dishes that need preparation. We will try that next time.

Just wasted $100 there, the food was blend, no taste. I love Cantonese food, but this is not the place, do yourself a favor, find a different place anywhere else. Im not sure how they got rated so high, I fell in the trap, you do not!

The flavor of the Cantonese dishes here is absolutely top-notch. The shredded chicken is super tender and flavorful, and the lemon black tea is delicious! If you love Cantonese cuisine, you definitely have to give this place a try.

I was determined to get some authentic Cantonese on my trip to Seattle so I tried H Bistro based on photos and reviews.
Food was super oily. All i could taste was the oil on the items ordered. Little to no other flavors. They were out of boba.
