Wife and I (along with son and his wife) decided to try Kosta’s for our 60th wedding anniversary dinner. Glad we did. Atmosphere in fireplace room made things special. Food very tasty. (Even the hummus was extraordinary.)
And also extraordinary was our waitperson, Nikyla…very helpful, and such a nice person. We felt welcome and taken care of.

Good place to stop and get lunch , food was definitely reasonably priced and the beer was cold.. the steak wheel was great and the wife had a gyro and said it was good.. very good service as well.

We were looking for a neighborhood place to stop at on the way to the airport in Bangor fairly late in the evening with a snowstorm coming in. The staff was super nice and the food plentiful and tasty. It had been too long since I had solidly good Greek food!
Kosta’s is not fancy, but the food and people are what you want, if you’re looking for a solid, tasty, inexpensive place.

My friend and I decided to try Kostas for lunch, she ordered an adult beverage and we each ordered gyros – she chicken with no tomatoes and I got lamb with tomatoes. Lets just say they were incorrectly made. She got tomatoes and I had none. The server did offer to remake hers or take it off the bill since she couldnt est it. He did the right things but, here’s where it went sideways… the adult beverage came to the table, and as our server started pouring, we could both see that the glass had lip marks all around the rim but she didnt want to complain. So she found a clean spot and drank from there. When the meal came out, I noticed that the edges of the plates were greasy like someone washed them but missed all the grease on the edge of the plate. The lamb gyro was pretty flavorless and I kept looking for the garlic in the tzitziki (sp?). This was strike 3 for my friend and a very disappointing 1st time for me. And, the room we were seated in was wicked cold so our food was cold very quickly. Also, baklava doesnt need to be microwaved and have whipped cream and caramel sauce on it – i was hoping for crunchy baklava, not soggy phyllo.

Amazing service! The server was one of the best we have ever had in any establishment! We had a group of 8 and one of ours guests had a birthday that we wanted to secretly celebrate at the end of our meal. We were able to bring the cake in early and they brought it out after our meal and sang with us! They also brought out whipped cream to go with our cake. I can’t express how appreciative we were for the great service. We will certainly be returning!

We went there for lunch and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. We started with a bruschetta appetizer that was delicious, especially with the pesto on it. Next, we had chicken and lamb gyros, which were both very tasty. The French fries were good too, but the Caesar salad wasn’t. The dressing was bland, not flavorful, and it lacked salt and tanginess.

I had a haddock sandwich with the Gallaghers, a friend had the lasagna with a side of pealoaf and another friend had the steak will house with a side of mashed potatoes. It was the best meal I have ever had and the service was phenomenal. I definitely will be going back.

I went there yesterday. Very nice bartender. Food is pretty incredible. I love the Alfredo pizza. It’s a nice bar. It’s not bright (which I like). I feel like it’s cozy on rainy, wintery days.
