A wonderful dining experience! The owner’s hospitality is top-notch. They even offered our crying child ice cream to help calm him down. Small details, like providing wet wipes for the prawn pasta without us even asking, really stand out. Great variety of pasta dishes and high-quality food.
My husband and I chose this place for a dinner date, and the service completely ruined what should have been a special evening.
We walked in as advised by the restaurant (they only accept reservations for 4 people and above). We were seated at a table that was still dirty — covered in crumbs from previous guests. We waited several minutes before a waiter brought us the menu. How do you hand guests a menu before even cleaning their table?
When I politely asked if he could clean it first, instead of apologizing he snapped back: “I ONLY HAVE TWO HANDS.” Completely unnecessary and unprofessional.
We tried to let it go.
We ordered cava as a welcome drink, an appetizer, and a main dish that the menu specifically recommended pairing with wine. The appetizer arrived — no cava. We had to remind them. So much for a welcome drink.
After finishing the starter, we waited a long time for our mains. Other tables were already leaving. Eventually, the waitress came back and admitted they had forgotten to send our order to the kitchen. That alone says enough about the organization.
To her credit, she apologized sincerely and offered a complimentary cocktail.
Here’s the problem: a complimentary drink only makes sense if it arrives while you’re still waiting — not seconds before your main dish is served. The sweet cocktail arrived, and literally moments later our mains followed. How exactly are you supposed to pair a sugary cocktail with a main course that your own menu recommends enjoying with wine?
It completely defeated the purpose. It wasn’t thoughtful compensation — it just added to the chaos.
The food itself was genuinely good. The dishes were well-prepared and beautifully presented. And honestly, that’s what makes this even more disappointing. You can see that the people in the kitchen are putting effort, care, and skill into what they create. It’s sad that their hard work is overshadowed and undermined by poor, disorganized service in the dining room.
We have eaten in many restaurants across Belgium, particularly in Antwerp, and this is by far the first time we have ever heard a waiter use “I only have two hands” as an excuse for basic service.
Today we shared our experience with our families — and nothing impacts a restaurant more than word of mouth, especially when it comes from locals.
I ordered the lasagna with beef and my +1 ordered the lasagna with lamb. Now, going to an Italian restaurant with an Italian is always a bold move, but these flavourful meals convinced her that we truly were meant to step into this restaurant.
Every bite was consistent with flavour, activating every palette on my tongue. The meals had such a rich taste, to urge degree that allows you to almost simultaneously taste each ingredient on its own from the dish. We were beyond pleased.
Just a tip, if you’re not huge eaters, consider sharing your main course dish, as you’ll want all the space you can to enjoy a starter but also dessert!!
Thanks to the staff for being so friendly and courteous. Highly recommend visiting this spot if you’re ever around, it’s a very welcoming and cozy restaurant❤️
