I have been a loyal customer of Duffers since last fall and have always enjoyed my experiences here. Just last week, I ordered a strawberry margarita, which was exceptional. Unfortunately, my visit last night was deeply disappointing, and I will no longer be patronizing this business.
During my visit when the establishment was not busy, I approached the bar and ordered the same drink as last week. The bartender responded, “I’m not making you a margarita.” Taken aback, I thought I misheard over the noise. I politely repeated my order, noting that I had ordered the same drink the prior week. The bartender then stated, “We don’t make them on Saturdays, but I can give you a tequila with grenadine.” I found this explanation confusing, as a margarita is a standard cocktail.
The bartender prepared the drink without further discussion. Upon tasting it, I noted that it lacked any discernible alcohol. I asked my group to confirm, and they agreed. I approached another employee and requested that the drink be remade or supplemented with additional tequila. At that point, the original bartender returned, began speaking disparagingly about me, and together they stated, “It’s a standard margarita with one shot if you want more alcohol, you can pay for it.” Feeling dismissed and disrespected, I chose to leave.
Having worked in the service industry for three years, I would never treat a paying customer in such a manner. I found the conduct of the staff extremely unprofessional and invalidating. I will not be returning to Duffers and will advise others to consider this experience before visiting.

Great gluten free Detroit style pizza, but service was horrible. The girl taking our order could not answer any questions and they brought the pizza on these bumpy trays that were impossible to cut on. The waitress did not come back to fill drinks at all, and we had to flag her down for the bill. We definitely expected more from downtown Lake Forest.

Went here last night to watch a football game and had a great time. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was fun. Unfortunately, it was very cold inside, so I ended up leaving at halftime. I’ll definitely be back in the spring when the weather is warmer and I can stay longer.

Nice, golf themed restaurant with open air garage sections. Dedicated happy hour and great food. I had a traditional thin crust sausage pizza and it was great. Price point was average in comparison to those in the area. My only real complaint is how many tables were hightop.

We were so excited to try out Duffy when visiting for a hockey tournament. Just to be greeted at the door and then waited at a table for 15 mins with no one attending to us but 4 staff sitting at the bar laughing and talking. Then we get up they had the nerve to say have a great day come again! The last staff I mentioned we have been waiting with no service, then says so sorry, you were? We didn’t know. You greeted us as the door! So frustrating. This looked so promising and was hopping to bring the whole hockey team later.
