Stopped here for lunch. The menu was extensive. The servers were all friendly. The food was very good.

Had breakfast at the Smyrna Diner. It was busy, so the service took a little longer than expected, but the staff was friendly once we were seated. The meal was good overall, but a few things stood out. The grits portion was small and tasted like instant, and the kielbasa was underwhelming—more like a hot dog in flavor and texture. Still, the food came out hot, and it’s a solid spot if you’re looking for a classic diner breakfast and don’t mind a bit of a wait.

Food okay but the waitress needs to find another line of work. No personality, never checked on us, overcharged our meal. They were not busy. We were offered a refill on coffee by a different person. Too much food and overpriced. Do not get the soggy French Toast. Disappointing. Not in a hurry to go back.

Visited the Smyrna Diner this morning. Great food with top notch service. Three separate servers handled our table, all very friendly. Food came out promptly and hot as it’s meant to be. We enjoyed a 2 egg platter and a western omelette platter. The food was fresh and cooked as ordered (extra crispy home fries for the win). Would definitely recommend to locals and travelers alike.

We had just dropped the puppy off for surgery in Newcastle so we decided to stop here on our way home. It was not busy the waitress was very nice. The food did not come out hot the the home fries we did not like it all this was our first time there and it was our last time there. I suggest you drive a little further down the road and go to the Hollywood Diner in Dover Delaware they have great food in great service

Not good!
I got breakfast, 3 pancakes, eggs and sausage links. The pancakes were under done, rubbery and chewy. One of my pancakes had burnt flakes from a previous meal. It was like that pancake de-glazed their griddle that just cooked something savory with garlic. I still can’t wrap my mind around the scrambled eggs. I think they use liquid eggs or egg beaters. But they didn’t taste like eggs at all. They tasted like the smell of old grease. So weird.
My partner got fried chicken. It was overdone and dry somehow. What was suppose to be breading had no flavor, and was VERY salty (salt is not a flavor). No crunch just grease. It was like salty flower that soaked up the frying oil ♀️.
I paid 37 bucks for garbage. The service was decent though…. so there’s that.

I absolutely love coming here it’s a really good place home style cooking and feel. Also really cozy booths which is a must for a diner. They have some great burgers and breakfast foods as well. Definitely recommend this place !

I hope you are hungry for an honest review. Here we go.
I spend my irreplaceable time creating honest reviews to assist people just like you in making the best choice as possible to fit their needs.
I am here from out of town and I grew up here when the diner was in its old location. I liked the “old school” atmosphere of the old location, but this new place is super clean and has plenty of seating for larger parties.
The food is decent and does not take long to serve the customer. I will say that I have not been there when they have a lot of diners to serve.
I have included a few images for you to see.
I had the chicken fried steak this time and the cheesesteak the last time.
The cheesesteak was pretty good. I thin i liked it more than the steak.
The broccoli I got was a bit overcooked but still ok for me.
Mashed potatoes were good and fluffy and the gravy was decent.
The steak was not super big, but it was tasty.
There is about 4 handicap parking g spots and the place is wheelchair accessible but….. the parking spaces are a bit of a stroll from the main entrance. ( I’m confused by that engineering)
However, there is a lane used as a loading zone, so you may drop off your ♿️ bound companion. If need be and then park the vehicle.
There are plenty of seats, and at a glance, it looks like room for 200 people, but I could be wrong.
They Do Not stay open too late, so bring your appetite earlier in the evening for the best results.
