Food was really good and flavorful. The lamb chops were especially delicious and full or flavor. I also had the chicken kabob, which was also very good.

I ordered my food online, when I showed up, it was still being made. The lady at the front was nice and helpful. I waited for food, not too long, when the lady came out and called my name, I confirmed my name. She said it again, and I confirmed again. She looked at me and said “what did you order?” I answered her and she gave me my meal.

My problem with this…as I was waiting for my food, I watched four other people get their food by the same lady, and she did not ask one of them to recite their orders to her. Apparently, I was the only one that warranted that kind of response. I didn’t care for that.

Overall, the food was was very good but the service could have been better and not make a customer feel isolated and wrong.

We got combo. Beef and chicken. Not a wow taste and not really awful taste. If you are hungry you can have it. Chicken was better than beef. It comes with rice and salad. Price is $20.99 with tax. Not cheap. Would ı come back ? I guess not really. I am not impressed by the food. With this price I would expect better taste. Update after the lunch : the oil that they use in the food is not good quality. It made my stomach burn and the food and gas coming from my throat. So disappointed.

We were excited to try Maiwand Kabob, but overall the experience was a bit disappointing.

The hummus was just okay, nothing special, and the baba ghanoush unfortunately had almost no flavor (definitely a big mistake ordering it). On the bright side, the green sauce was tangy and pretty awesome, definitely the highlight of the meal.

The lamb shank itself was tender and decently flavored, but the pulao it was served with had an overwhelming cardamom taste and was too sweet, which really threw off the dish. The naan, however, was good and fresh.

We also didn’t realize this was part of a chain when we went. Next time, we’ll support a mom-and-pop Afghan restaurant that really puts love into their food. If you do go, I’d suggest sticking to the kebab and skipping the pulao.

Maiwand Kabob serves the tastiest Afghan food I’ve had in Baltimore and the surrounding areas. Every dish I’ve tried is packed with authentic flavor and perfectly seasoned meats, fragrant rice, and fresh sides that come together beautifully. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My go-tos are the kofta and chicken seekh combo as well as the tikka and chapli combo.

The portion sizes are just right; generous without being overwhelming and everything is consistently fresh and satisfying. What really sets them apart, though, is their amazing customer service. Over the past eight years of frequenting this place, I’ve constantly had a great experience with every single order. The staff is always welcoming, attentive, and professional, making it a spot I’ll continue to recommend without hesitation.

We recently went to Maiwand
to celebrate my birthday, and once again, it did not disappoint! This was our third visit, and the experience just keeps getting better. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was excellent as well – attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. It made the celebration feel extra special. If you’re looking for a place with consistently great food and warm hospitality, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

One of the best Afghan restaurants in Maryland!!

Maiwand Kabob at Columbia Crossing is consistently excellent. The food is perfectly cooked and is juicy, flavorful, and authentic. The rice is outstanding the portions are generous and everything comes out fresh and hot.

The staff is friendly and welcoming and the quality never drops no matter how busy they are. If you want real Afghan food done right this is the place.

Highly recommend and absolutely worth the drive!

BEST Maiwand location. Service is wonderful and staff is extremely nice. I’m a regular customer and love coming to this branch! The waitresses are awesome and the food is great! Would definitely reccomend if you’re into middle eastern or south asian cuisine. Atmosphere is also 10/10. So relaxing and aesthetic

My son and I both love the lamb. If you like it tender and juicy, be sure to ask for that. My son still likes the lamb when it is fully cooked/well done, but to me it feels crumbly and dry. The naan/breads is my favorite part. When I first went, I didn’t know the coriander yogurt sauce was for dipping the meat. I used it as a dip for my bread – and that is pretty delicious! – and sometimes for a year one of my kids and I treat ourselves to naan and a couple of cups of that yummy green sauce.
