Reviews
Even though there were several open four-top tables available, we were seated at a table crammed up against a pole. I was literally back-to-back with another diner less than two feet away, so we kept bumping into each other the entire meal. It made for a very uncomfortable start.
Service was also disorganized. There appeared to be multiple managers on the floor, but they seemed to be doing remedial tasks instead of actually managing the staff. There were plenty of waitstaff walking around, yet we had to ask twice just to get silverware. We also asked three times for water refills before anyone realized we meant all of our waters needed refilling—not individual cups brought out one at a time.
The food didn’t make up for it. The chicken jambalaya was served lukewarm and the chicken was noticeably dried out. Overall, nothing we ordered stood out as particularly good. The quality felt closer to cheap bar food—or a bad day at Applebee’s—than what we expected from a French Quarter restaurant.
We also noticed several other tables looking frustrated and asking bus staff to track down their servers, so it didn’t seem like we were the only ones having issues.
Unfortunately, between the cramped seating, disorganized service, and underwhelming food, it wasn’t a place we’d go back to.
Unlike a lot of the bigger names in the quarter, there’s much less of a line and the food’s just as good.
I wasn’t aware that tilapia and tasteless shrimp were found in the Gulf…..
If everything that was on my plate didn’t come out of a Sysco box I’d be real surprised.
I know you sell to tourists that mostly don’t know the difference and probably won’t be back anyway but please do better…. Not for me because I now know better and won’t be back but for you, have some integrity.
