Food is 100% delicious and affordable. The portion is huge. The restaurant is tiny and gets busy during rush hours. Service is good. We had a good time with friends.

The FOOD is the best part of La Candela!! I have been here a few times and the service has always been great. There is definitely an atmosphere here and if you come on the weekends there is usually live music everything is authentic Peruvian, including the music they play. I highly recommend this place that anyone looking for a Peruvian experience.

Ate here last week with my husband and it was lovely. I have been craving Aji de Gallina and was happy to see it on the menu – it did not disappoint! The food was so flavorful and the service was great, too. The calamari was probably some of the best I have had and you could tell it was fresh. The Peruvian chicken was also incredibly juicy. The red sangria was not overly sweet and you can tell they used good wine. Overall this was a great experience and we will absolutely be back!

Best ceviche mixto in the area. Large portion and a fair price. My almost weekly take out and delivery staple at this point, but I hope to try dining in soon! The restaurant is small but they made the most of the space and I saw several families enjoying it the other day when I picked up my order. Will definitely be back and have to try more items on the menu

Absolutely delicious. It’s been a while since I had Peruvian, so when my wife and I visited for a weekday lunch, we ordered three classics; anticuchos, ceviche mixto (not pictured) and an ají de gallina to share. All three were delightful.
We also ordered the pisco sour classic and a maracuya pisco sour. Again, delightful.
Our server was friendly and attentive.

I had a great experience at La Candela in Commack. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the visit.
The food was delicious and well prepared, and everything came out in a timely manner. I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely return.

Finally a Peruvian restaurant in Commack! Unbelievable food & service! Ceviche and lomo soltado were so fresh and the portions were huge! Can’t recommend this place enough. For anyone looking for high quality home made authentic Peruvian food, look no further! Best Peruvian food outside of Peru! Will definitely be back soon! PS. Try the pisco sours!
