There is a reason why Jolly Nick’s in Dumont has a place among the top hot dog establishments in New Jersey, and it comes across literally the instant you walk in the door, as you are given a most friendly greeting. The staff are among the most pleasant and accommodating people I have encountered, with most amicable dispositions.
But it’s more than just a nice greeting that makes Jolly Nick’s a winner, it’s the high quality food that is the big selling point.
The hot dogs are quite large, bigger than most standard hot dogs sold in eateries; the burgers and cheesesteaks substantial and filling, The prices here are most economical too.
The clientele is your prototypical neighborhood crowd, most pleasant, and it is a pleasure to see a staff that shows a genuine eagerness and readiness to serve.

Stumbled across this place while running errands and drove back later to grab lunch here. There are about 6 tables and it filled up fast. We got hot dogs (mustard and green) and fries to share. Everything was really good and it was definitely affordable. Coming back for sure!

Read about this place on a Facebook hotdog group and wanted to give it a shot. Service was great and the the deep, fried dogs, didn’t disappoint. Fries were solid too. Only downside, clearly the Dumont middle schoolers get out for lunch. This group of banchee boys were loud and foul mouthed – would make drunken pirates blush. I recommend going around 1 during the week to avoid this crowd.

So came from Florida to visit my family in Bergenfield and was wanted hot dogs. Jolly Nick’s did not disappoint as the food was exquisite, tasty and extremely affordable something you don’t find these days. Owner cooked, served, took care of us and treated us like family. Just got done eating a hot dog (rainbow) which is everything on it and my son and husband had one with cheese, and one double cheeseburger as well as fries and onion rings. Everything was great! The man who I assume is the original owner said they’ve been open for 60 years and I can see why. If you’ve never been I recommend checking it out!
