Went for valentines special dinner. 7 pm reservations and seating. Finally left at 10 pm with dessert in to go container. Food great. Service terrible. Longer version. Seated at 7:05. Received appetizer at 7:35 which is fine. After speaking with manager received salad and soup 8:35. After speaking with waitress received entree at 9:35. 10:00 went to waitress at computer booth and asked for dessert to go and the bill. Reasonably sure waitress didn’t input our order as others who arrived an hour later than us only took 2 hours to get all of their meal. Management and kitchen and several waitresses need to do better.

HK’s restaurant at the Lodge of Four Seasons had an okay Thanksgiving buffet, there was a big variety, the food was good, and the desserts were great. Breakfast the next morning, though, wasn’t very impressive.
What really surprised me was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill no matter how the service was. I brought it up to the manager, and he seemed almost offended that I mentioned it. I just find it unusual, especially since I haven’t seen this practiced elsewhere in the world.

My fiance and I went here for the four course Valentines dinner and we’re quite disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. The steak was fatty, bland and smothered in a tasteless sauce. The chicken was dry and gross. The service left something to be desired. The tables had numbers on them like a fast food burger joint and our water was served in plastic cups. It was not a romantic experience and we spent the whole dinner wanting to leave. The cheesecake was the only decent part and most likely not made in house. If you want a good steak and experience go to Baxters or one of the many other good spots in town.

We went last Saturday for my birthday. Waited over 30 min for our drinks and when we flagged down the bartender, who previously came by our table to discuss options, she acted very confused and a little irritated we grabbed her and she said rudely that she would grab our server. She claimed the ticket was lost. Which fine sure that happens but that means it’s been over 30 min of you not even checking on us! And we got apps before our drinks. Maybe there were 4 other tables in the whole restaurant so definitely not busy. Very very disappointing. Food was just okay definitely not worth what was paid. Will not be going back.

My family went down around 8pm to celebrate my birthday with dinner, drinks, and live music. We were seated promptly and then greeted with water that was aggressively placed on the table with not a word spoken. We waited for about 20 minutes and still no one had come to our table to greet us or take our drink order. At this time we decided it was time to leave and find somewhere else to go. Staff saw us get up and leave and still no words were said. Very disappointing.

I was a bit hesitant at first reading the reviews but I was so IMPRESSED. The host was so kind and welcoming plus because of our special date she made sure we had a table with the fantastic view. Our server was also extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the area and gave us a few tourist spots to hit. The food was AMAZING as well. Would highly HIGHLY recommend the potstickers as they were to die for and my pasta primavera that was modified by our server and her recommendations was full of flavor! My boyfriend’s burger was tasty with a toasty bun and awesome fries. All in all 10/10 we will be going back!
UPDATE: (08/09/22) As promised we have come back to HK’s after a year! Once again the service was excellent Lauren was fabulous. We actually went for a 21st birthday and she was so helpful in finding a drink the was enjoyable. The potstickers were delicious and the pizza was wonderfully cheesy. The ambiance was great as they had live music and singing. Couldn’t have been a better dining experience.

This place actually has good food. We ordered to go from them last night and had no issues. Food was good. Order was timely. We were impressed, considering the mediocre reviews. After a long day at the pool today, and with it being Saturday and busy everywhere else, we decided to make reservations at HK’s for dining in this time. When we arrived, we were warned of a 45 top that was slowing down the kitchen, but we were fine with a longer wait for our food as we had plenty of catching up to do. What we didn’t expect was to be given our drinks and ignored completely for the next thirty minutes. When I was finally able to flag down our waitress, Barbara, and ask why everyone else had bread at their table but us, she snapped, “You have to ask for it.” Which is the first time in my 39 years that a restaurant has told me that. (FYI, we saw you exactly once in our first forty minutes, Barbara. When would you have liked us to ask you?)
Everything we asked Barbara for tonight—the few times she did bother to come to our table—was met with attitude and condescension. She made it very clear she didn’t care to serve us or treat us with even a shred of decorum as she was making plenty of tips on her 45 top, so I gave Barbara’s tip to the musicians who were entertaining us this evening. Barbara, here’s my tip for you. I suggest you find a different career path. You are by far the rudest, most disrespectful waitress I have ever encountered.

Food was expensive for being mediocre. Had supper and breakfast.supper:I asked how big pretzel sticks were (priced $11) waitress shows with hands about four inches. Since there were two of us, I thought I better order another appetizer. Pretzels were more like 8-9”. So didn’t need to order a second app and waste money. Oatmeal was overdone and slimy. Coffee was cold. Service wasn’t great. Chandelier looks like it could fall at any minute.

Overall, not a great experience. The only good part of the night was the appetizers. We got the potstickers and onion rings, which came out fast and were delicious. Everything else was disappointing. The live music was nice but way too loud and didn’t fit the atmosphere of the restaurant. I ordered the burger and was expecting a normal bar style burger. Instead I was given a burnt hockey puck that was hardly edible. I would’ve gotten a better burger if we had gone to a fast food place. There was only one server for the entire dining room (management issue), so we hardly saw her and waited forever for the check. Will not be going back.
