The food was overly oily, and we had issues with consistency and communication. We specifically asked if the fries were tossed in anything and were told they were plain. When they arrived, they were clearly coated in something. Upon asking, one staff member said they were tossed in olive oil. When we requested a remake due to how soaked they were, they came back out with a different waitress saying, “All better—no garlic butter this time.” So we were given three different answers about the same side dish, which didn’t inspire confidence.
The salad was overdressed and oddly portioned—just a few arugula leaves piled on top of mostly tomatoes and pickled onions. I will say the steak was the one redeeming part of the meal—it was cooked well and tasted good.
Unfortunately, we also ordered the fish and chips sub tots, and like everything else, it was greasy and underwhelming.
No desserts stood out, and honestly, between the uncomfortably hot dining room and the less-than-friendly staff, we were just ready to leave.
To top it all off, our server couldn’t even answer questions about parking validation, which left us unsure if we were about to get stuck paying out of pocket for that too.
The enclosed patio was beautiful, the service was warm and attentive, and it was truly the ideal place to celebrate. We’ll definitely be back!
Zach the bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable – and he knew what he was doing!
I got the wagyu meatballs. Which were about a three out of five stars honestly. But they were only $20 so I gave them a 4 haha
– Red Sauce was REALLY good. Garlicky, aromatic, zingy.
– Ricotta cheese melted in, that was a really nice cream element I didn’t know I needed
– The Grilled bread on the side was actually very enjoyable! I’m not sure they seasoned it much if at all, but it was grilled perfectly crispy/crunchy with some fluffy still inside.
– The meatballs I can tell were not seared. They were missing texture. And they most definitely did not give me “this is wagyu beef” flavor. It was actually somewhat tough, and maybe even on the dry side? I can tell also tell they don’t cook their balls in the sauce.
50/50 whether I would come here again
First, our party was placed in the corner where it was very dark. We asked multiple times for the lights to be adjusted but they must have things set up where they can’t adjust lights over the dark tables. That’s fine but they’ve said others have complained in the past, SO FIX THE PROBLEM. It’s so dark you can’t see. The brought candles, we stole candles from other tables. This was the hotels busiest weekend of the year, the restaurant was only 40% occupied, we should have moved ourselves, but they should have offered to move us.
Second, the waiter had lots of issues with wine, questions, asking bar, etc. and then attempts to open bottle and destroys the cork (BECAUSE SHE SAID SHE CANT SEE). Duh!
So now there’s cork in the wine, we’re all in the dark and there’s no service to be found.
The food wasn’t great, no need to go into that.
The waitress asked if everything was ok at the end, I basically said it was fine, but we’d never come back. At that point she stood in front of me in my face and asked what she should do about it. Nice. At no point did a manager visit us.
