First time here, and honestly, it was such a pleasant surprise! At first, we almost left because the setup made it seem like a fast-food pasta spot, but I’m so glad we stayed. The staff were super nice and helpful, and the food came out hot and fresh.

The garlic cheese flatbread was amazing — soft, cheesy, and perfect with the marinara sauce. I got the chicken alfredo with linguine, and it was incredibly creamy and rich — super cheesy and flavorful. The chicken pesto pasta with roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, and mushrooms was also delicious, with a strong pesto flavor (in a good way!).

The owner was there and she was so kind — we sat by the window, and she even came over to ask if we wanted the curtains down since the sun was shining right in. Little touches like that made the experience even better.

Big portions, great service, and everything tasted freshly made. I just wish they had more drink options, but overall, definitely worth it. I’d go back for sure — and next time, I’m trying the desserts!

We were watching ATK (America’s Test Kitchen) and there was an episode about preparing Spaghetti all’Assassina (Assassin’s Spaghetti). So we looked up where we can taste it in NYC before trying to recreate it in the kitchen – the closest place to Manhattan is in Union, NJ. So we went on a (short) road trip. It’s a 30′ drive from the city.

When you pull up to All’ Assassina in Union it is very unassuming- there is a Greek restaurant in the corner called Souvlaqueria with the same owner.

The interior is unpretentious- bright and more of an upscale pizza parlor feel. You order at the counter and then they bring the order to your table. They have regular and San Pellegrino flavored drinks as well as Coca Cola in glass bottles. If you don’t want one of their signature dishes, the menu at All’ Assassina is highly customizable. You can build your own pasta dish by selecting a fresh sauce, fresh pasta, proteins, and up to three toppings.

We ordered the meatballs and their signature pasta that shares the name of the restaurant. The spicy, partially pan-fried spaghetti dish is as unusual as it is incredibly delicious. It is the perfect combination of texture and spice and the optional Stracciatella Cheese balances the heat.

The meatballs were also amazing – you can taste the freshness in the tomato sauce – it’s just right and the bread basket is served warm – the perfect complement for dipping.

We met the owner Marinos who gave us a taste of his short rib ragu which was off the hook!

The meal ended with homemade cheesecake with berries and a berry sauce – insane. And of course espresso with just the right crema.

Next time you are thinking of going to Belmont Tavern or another Italian destination in the tri-state area, go here, you will not be disappointed. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is bright, it’s BYO in case you want a bottle of wine, it’s a great value, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely worth the trip from NYC!

The restaurant celebrates its two year anniversary on March 7, 2026 and I hope it’s there for many years to come. We will be back.

Blown away. The pasta here is killer! Fresh ingredients, mouthwatering veggies in my pesto chicken penne. We wandered in here by chance after a swim meet. And now, we will need to make the drive out here just for pasta. You will not regret it. And the staff are muah!

Some of the best customer service I’ve ever had from a counter. Was patient and super knowledgeable about all the dishes and made recommendations. I had the Chicken Parm with fettuccini. It was huge but not super flat like those fake places do. Crispy and juicy. Yum!

The best pasta I’ve had in a while. The owners were kind and they made everyone’s day better. It didn’t feel robotic more inclusive.

We went on a weeknight. Pasta surpassed our expectations – it was truly fresh and house made. We tried a pasta dish and a flatbread – both were outstanding. Great service & very friendly staff. Gave us good recommendations. BYOB, which we love.

In the mood for killer pasta? This spot has a modern vibe that’s perfect for family or a quick pasta fix. You can even grab take out or get it delivered if you’re too cozy to leave home. I ordered their “La Creazione”- a pasta-tively yummy custom dish where you pick your pasta, protein (vegan choices too), add-ins, and sauce. Delizioso! It’s the perfect choice for picky eaters. Hubs mostly enjoyed their classic Chicken Parm and for my kids, the Spaghetti and (really good) Meatballs were at hit! They also offer pizza, other entrees, and apps if you want to add some variety to your meal. In pasta we trust!

NOTES/TIPS:
**Excellent, friendly service.
**East parking in their own lot off of Liberty Ave.
**On yelp, DoorDash, Grubhub, Seamless, UberEats, Postmates.

The owner is so welcoming and upbeat! He was very nice and accommodating. The pasta!! UGH!! The pasta! I built my own pasta. A Alfredo linguine with shrimp, bacon, caramelized onions and mushrooms! The sauce was absolutely perfect! Not salty and not bland. Perfect balance! The shrimp was a great size and everything tasted fresh!! The portion was perfect! I know I shouldn’t but I am going back here after the gym today . No favorite place!!

We stopped here on our way home from the shore and this did not disappoint. This place was clean, staff were friendly, and food was delicious. You could tell it was fresh, good quality ingredients. The garlic cheese flatbread was the perfect starter for us. Highly recommend.

This place is beyond spectacular. Some of the best pasta I’ve had in a long time—fresh, flavorful, and exactly how pasta should be made, no question. Saying this is my new happy place is an understatement. Every bite took me to a euphoric bliss. If you haven’t been here yet, don’t wait—this is a must-visit spot! This place is small but worth the wait!
