We really like the grilled burbon oysters. However sometimes the oysters are big and huge while sometimes are super small. It’s like a hit or miss 🙂
Garlic bread is another of our favorite.
Salmon and beet salad , clean!
Lobster linguine, pretty decent 🙂
However service can be slow sometimes, depending on the server I guess. We had good experience with service too but the most recent one we were sitting for 10 minutes and no water/menu was served, we had to ask twice. And when we asked for the check, we also had to ask twice.
The only miss for me was the fresh dungeness crab & lobster linguini. It didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the seafood was fresh, the overall dish lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for..
Still, it’s definitely worth coming back — especially for the starters and deserts, which are clearly where Rustic House shines.
The vibe was really nice too comfortable, inviting, and just an overall great atmosphere. It made the whole experience even better.
Still didnt care for the scallops appetizer. Very tiny scallops and couldn’t taste the bourbon. But the poke appetizer was outstanding!! Tried the crab and lobster again. Not as bad as last time – it was hot and not overly salted – but merely “ok.” Desserts were outstanding – the lava cake was warm and gooey and the double chocolate brownie was one of the best I’ve ever eaten! Great service!
One of the worst dinners ever, especially at $100 a person! Don’t expect a light bourbon butter sauce for the scallop appetizer. It’s a heavy, creamy, oversalted sauce, with so much pancetta that you.can barely taste the very flat scallops. The crab and lobster over pasta was a mushy mess. Again, over salted. Too many onions. Couldn’t find the tasteless, frozen lobster. The COLD crab was dumped on top of the warm dish. Could barely eat it. My friend’s ahi tuna was better, though it was barely warm. Chocolate cake was fine…if you like eating chocolate icing out of a can.
The food is very good but Sarah’s service was EXCELLENT ! Kudo’s to you Sarah ! 🙂
For dessert, we had the brownie (Sarah’s called it…it was delicious) and I had an affrogato (also delicious)
Sorry I did not take any photos. We simply just wanted to enjoy dinner.
Side note. I REALLY love how the restaurant doesn’t pressure you into the 18%, 22% or whatever tips. Sarah gave GREAT service and we tipped her well (as it should be ! 🙂
Would I go there again ? Absolutely ! 🙂
Update from December 18th.
We ordered a bowl of clam chowder, crab cakes, and lobster roll, and we ended with keylime pie. Everything was really good, and you can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu. Kelly, our server and Luis the manager took really good care of us!
Recent update, we sat at the bar and had a Bloody Mary, sautéed scallops, wild Alaskan cod tacos, and a Rustic crab melt. Again everything was really good!
