I took my kids out for brunch on Saturday evening because they were craving pizza (or anything Italian). As a longtime foodie in NYC, I didn’t have high hopes given my past experiences in my neighborhood. I had passed by Roman Inn a few times but never felt the need to try it—until now. And I have to say, I was completely wrong!

The pizza was fantastic, the lobster soup was flavorful without being overly salty, and the dessert was made fresh to order. Every bite exceeded my expectations.

That said, I understand some of the mixed reviews about the restaurant’s setup. It’s a bit unclear whether Roman Inn is a sub shop, a pizzeria, or a fine dining establishment. Some might expect a full-service experience, but with limited staff, the service can be a bit slow at times. For example, it took longer than expected to get our check, and they initially forgot my daughter’s meatball pasta. However, they corrected it without charging me, which I appreciated.

But here’s my real question: how are all the other pizzerias in this area still in business? After trying Roman Inn, I can’t see myself going anywhere else for pizza. We should be bringing more business here so they can hire more staff and continue serving great food for our neighborhood!

Absolutely loved my experience at Roman Inn! The margherita pizza was amazing and made just right. On top of that, the customer service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. You can tell they really care about their food and their customers. Can’t wait to come back!

This place continues to blow my mind. The pizza and sandwiches are next level. It’s a restaurant that can be something different every visit. Want a great slice for lunch? They got you. Want delicious pasta and a salad for dinner? They got you. So happy I live so close to this gem.

The whole here is wonderful. My mom & I went last night for dinner and we both enjoyed ourselves. It was her first time eating in. We enjoyed the music. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom and restaurant was spotless. The food was delicious . I had the fried fish and chips. I asked that no extra salt be added. It was perfect. The fish was not greasy. My mom had the Murphy Chicken with a side of bread. She too enjoyed the food and will go back with some of her siblings. This place can also be perfect for date night. The only thing is they need to stop allowing non-customers use the restroom. It’s rude & unsafe. I highly recommended you going to Roman Inn.

”If you’re looking for authentic, perfectly seasoned Italian food in Englewood, Roman Inn is a must-visit. The food was just incredible from start to finish. A huge standout was the meatballs with cheese—the flavor was spot on. Even better? The bread made from pizza dough is absolutely exquisite and perfect for dipping. Beyond the food, the staff was extremely courteous and friendly, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!”

The Roman Inn is the place to come. The service is the best. The food is amazing and everyone is friendly. The shrimp pasta is to die for. I finished it so quickly. Also, the wings are amazing. Whoever is in the is doing an amazing job. The place is not expensive but the food is great a. Come here if you want great food for a great price.

We came little late here for lunch but they kindly serve us nice lunch menu which made our hungry tummy so full and satisfied! The burger was nice n the french fries were so crunch outside n soft inside, just perfectly fried. To me, Just a hint of pickle(little sour flavors) would be even better, I guess it is bcoz I ordered my patty well-done. The margarita pizza was so tasty too!

Tucked unassumingly behind a modest façade, Roman Inn delivers a masterclass in culinary precision—where every detail, from the warm lighting to the wood-grain tables, feels thoughtfully placed. The experience is seamless, deliberate, and—somehow—still flying under the radar. Which, frankly, is astonishing.

Because here’s the truth: Roman Inn serves one of the most criminally underrated sandwiches on the East Coast.

As someone who has spent decades in pursuit of the perfect sandwich—from bodegas in Brooklyn to trattorias in Tuscany—I can say, without hesitation, that the Spicy Roman Inn is a revelation. Perfectly balanced, unapologetically bold, and portioned like it’s feeding a small village, this sandwich hits every note: spice, structure, soul. It’s not just good—it’s the kind of good that rewrites your definition of what a sandwich can be.

The wings? Exceptional. The pizza? A bold, flavorful nod to tradition with just enough edge to feel exciting. But it’s that Spicy Roman Inn that will haunt your palate in the best possible way.

I was introduced to this place by a friend—Jersey-bound from New York with the same skepticism you’re likely holding now. But one bite in, and my GPS had a new saved location. I’ve since crossed state lines more than once, driven past a dozen “must-try” spots in the city, just to wrap my hands around that glorious sandwich again.

This isn’t hype. This is a hidden gem that won’t stay hidden forever. Get there before the lines prove me right.

I stumbled across this restaurant to grab some lunch. I called in my order of the fish sandwich and fries. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I didn’t see where the restaurant was because there was no name outside the restaurant. I finally found it and walked in and was greeted. My food wasn’t quite done yet so I waited a few. I paid when it was done and left. When I ate there was plenty of the sandwich and fries. I dug in and the fries were tasty. The sandwich was good but it was a little salty. It was very filling all in all. I had a pretty good experience.
