The steaks here are so very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The food comes out fast and the servers are polite and very enthusiastic. The table guacamole is a must! The pina colada margarita was wonderful, for a medium quite large.
The atmosphere can be quite loud on weekends but it is a fun experience. We also had the fried ice cream and presentation was beautiful with a wonderful taste.

They make the guacamole fresh right in front of you, and you can choose and serve your own salsa.
The portions are generous for the price, and everything was absolutely delicious.
You must try the ceviche.
The steak was a bit tough, though.

Excellent experience at Las Carretas.
Authentic Mexican food with great flavor. We had the fajitas and the molcajete, and everything was delicious and well prepared.
The service from Ana Paula was excellent—very attentive, friendly, and professional, which made the experience even better.

Kristin and Mia were super nice and accommodating. My children wanted to be outside and play while we ate and because it was a little chilly they put their heater on for me so i don’t get cold while we ate!! The food was fresh and hot and this drink ( i forgot the name ) was amazing!!! My kids and i love this place and can’t wait to come back!!!

We stopped in Gainesville on our way down to Miami and decided to try Las Carretas after reading the reviews. Every single one of them was true. This is hands down some of the best Mexican food we have ever had.
The flavors were outstanding, everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the portions were generous. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The manager even came by our table twice to check on us, which really shows how much they care about their guests.
Nolvi was the best!!
If you are anywhere near Gainesville, this place is absolutely worth the stop. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I had dinner here for Valentine’s Day. We absolutely LOVED the food and the atmosphere, but best of all was our server Lia !! She was AMAZING and made the whole experience unforgettable. This is going to be my new favorite place to eat 10 out of 10!! Can’t wait for our next date night here ❤️

We found Las Carretas Mexican Restaurant in Gainesville through a last-minute Facebook Valentine’s Day event, and WOW what a surprise! The event said no reservations needed, so we showed up not realizing how popular it would be. The place was PACKED with a line out the door! Even so, we only waited about 25 minutes for a table on Valentine’s Day, which honestly wasn’t bad at all considering the crowd.
We went specifically for their Valentine’s special: 2 margaritas, fajitas for two, and dessert, which was such a great deal! The margaritas were delicious. We ordered the Rita sampler and the blueberry margarita tasted like blueberry pie, so fresh, organic, and absolutely yummy.
We also ordered homemade guacamole, which was delectable, paired with fresh, crispy homemade chips. Our fajitas included steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp, everything was cooked to perfection. The flavors were incredible.
And can we talk about the restaurant itself? It’s HUGE! It felt like one of those multi-level Times Square NYC restaurants, with multiple floors and even outside patio seating. It was like a magic trick walking through it!
Our waitress, Lia, was fantastic, attentive, helpful, and so sweet despite how busy it was. The staff worked incredibly hard all night and it showed.
Plentiful parking, amazing food, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem we didn’t even know existed in town. Thank you for making our Valentine’s Day special after a long day of yard work
