I can’t say enough good about this awesome, charming restaurant tucked into the heart of Pulaski. The staff was friendly, and so welcoming; the rooms are large and well spaced out.
We went to the Seafood buffet and were delighted with such a huge variety of offerings; from southern sides (greens, Mac and cheese) to the main dishes of clams, boiled shrimp, and blackened catfish, we were extremely pleased! There was a full salad bar, two soup offerings, and tons of other varieties of fish as well! We also enjoyed some chicken tenders that were flavorful and delicious
The waitress was so sweet and helpful. She was quick to offer us refills, extra napkins, and even brought me some sauces I’d overlooked on the buffet
I highly recommend this awesome restaurant! I’ll be back to the Seafood buffet soon, and I can’t wait to check out some of their other offerings as well!

We had the buffet. The food was good, it wasn’t over or undercooked, the variety was good. I can say the Salisbury steak was pretty dang good, as was the mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. Best food I’ve had? No. But would I eat here again? Absolutely. The service is still great, the food was good and I see no reason for anything negative in my review.

If you are looking for some good southern food then look no further, I came to over yonder on a Friday, and much to my enjoyment it was seafood buffet day! I tried everything on offer and was surprised at the a la cart quality in buffet format. The meats were well seasoned and tender, the vegetables were thoroughly cooked and seasoned the way you would expect mom to season them on sundays. Besides the cat fish, flounder, and fried clams on offer there were also everyday staples like thin sliced seasoned steak, a biscuit casserole, and a delightful vegetable stew. I can’t say how impressed I am with this continuation of old business but better!

If I could give no stars I would. This place is hands down the worst restaurant. We thought it was bad under the previous owners and had high hopes for positive changes. The food on the buffet was dried out and looked as if it had been there all day. So we had salad. Tables were dirty and had not been cleaned off and the place was empty, they were not busy at all. Very minimal items on their menu. No variety just your basic hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese and hamburger steak. $17.00 price for that pathetic “seafood ” buffet and all I seen was dried up fish and shrimp. We will never go again.

Buffet food is never exceptional or anything, but this place is kinda dingy inside. Staff was nice but just missing the basics so much that you feel like they need training or something. They had steak out, but you had to ask for a steak knife and A1. Food was pretty dry and there weren’t many options to choose from. Items were written in marker in the sneeze guard, but things were mislabeled making it hard to know what was fish and what was something I could eat. Left pretty unsatisfied for almost $20. I’d skip this one.

Everything is very good. New ownership has created a great place for a family meal gathering or even just a quick grab a meal! The Friday night buffet is great tonight, Kileigh and I, Joe Walker, highly recommend it! Donna had the Philly Cheesesteak Sub, crispy fries and a drink which was Awesome!
SO, this Walker family highly recommend Over Yonder in Pulaski!

This location was previously called ‘Main street grill’, and switched ownership (and name along with it) about a month ago. I went to Main street grill numerous times, and have been to ‘Over Yonder’ a few times after the ownership change.
Generally speaking, the new owners seem to have tried to keep things similar to how main street grill operated: Breakfast buffet, Seafood buffet, or a more generic ‘southern food’ buffet, depending on day and time. Additionally, they offer al-a-carte options for breakfast and lunch. The al-a-carte menu is a bit trimmed down from the previous ‘Main street grill’ offerings, but honestly the old menu was in some ways too complicated. As long as I can come in and grab a decent breakfast for around 10 dollars or less, I am happy.
The new owners are great. They literally walk around the restaurant and introduce themselves / ask how things are. The staff are generally good too. It is ‘seat yourself’ and so, occasionally, if you walk in and sit down, you might not be noticed for a bit. In that case, just flag down a waiter to let them know you are there.
The variety of different types of seafood on the seafood buffet is fairly diverse. There aren’t really any other places around that offer seafood that I know of. There also aren’t really any buffet style places around anymore either!
I saw some 1 star reviews for this place — I feel as if that is not an accurate reflection of the general customer sentiment, and has a disproportionate negative impact on the overall rating due to the relatively small number of reviews (which only total about 5 so far). Most customers seem content to me, from what I can tell, so I would recommend not casting judgment based on the overall star total until a larger sample of reviews is established.

We ate at Over Yonder on July 27, 2024 while traveling through Pulaski VA. We had the hamburger steak and at 1st bite it tasted bad. After leaving without finishing our meal we had the worst case of food poisoning that we had ever experienced. Horrible diarrhea and vomiting and unable to hold anything down. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!

I liked the previous restaurant and hope they do good under new management. Work the kinks out and I hope it does well. I look forward to coming back to try again.
