Great place to grab lunch and coffee. Solid. Fresh, modern “farmhouse” fare. Good variety so you can do something healthy or more indulgent.
Ambiance is food-hall meets café. Nice design, open, casual but with a more curated feel than a typical food court.
Service is fast but still personal, which is unusual and nice in a high-speed food-service environment.
Value is reasonable for the quality and setting. Not cheap fast food, but not fine dining either — mid-tier “fast/fast-casual” in a corporate/campus context.
The poke plate (salmon/Tuna poke) is Fresh, light, sort of classic Hawaiian-style poke feel. The spicy mayo gives it a gentle kick; scallion and onion add crispness and bite. If paired with their “Aloha Bowl” style, you get a mix of rice and greens, which balances the richness of the fish.
The seared salmon + potatoes plate is more of a composed, restaurant-plate feel. The salmon is cooked (not raw) with a citrusy yogurt-like tzatziki that brightens it. The smashed potatoes are savory and rich, offering a warm, buttery, herbaceous side. It’s a more substantial, protein-forward meal — great for lunch.

A must visit for lunch, lots of healthy fresh options. Both hot and cold. Salads. Seafood. Sandwich fruits and veggies. Something for everyone.

Great place for a meeting with plenty of bach style seating. Very well lit. Clean and great atmosphere.

Tried the seared tuna and it was amazing. Very fresh and perfectly seasoned. Brussel sprouts were divine. Moderately priced. And wifi friendly. Will recommend to friends and family that live in the area. Looking forward to my ext visit.

Pro tip if you’re coming here for lunch show up at 11:00 or 11:30 beat the crowds

I Google search for healthy lunch option in this area. Yes, there were many popped up, but since this place closes at 3pm(I think lunch is served until 2:30), we wanted to go right away.

Wow!!! We are so happy we went there.
It was very easy to find, and easy to park!

All the staff were so kind. The place was very clean and well organized. Surprisingly, it was not loud either.

Yes, their Food was wow, too!!! Every bite was so delicious and felt refreshed even after the meal.

Thank you for providing a delicious healthy food!

We ordered…
Lunch(built your own plate):
-Seared Salmon w/Citrus Tzatziki,
-Spiced Cauliflower w/Sauce Verde,
-Autumn Farro Salad.

Grains & Greens:
-Beets Around The Bush
(Fried goat cheese was new for us, but texture was good! And I think it went well with roasted beets and pistachio vinaigrette.) yum!

Plus, Boxed Water and Ginger Ale.

Our Total $40+ for 2 of us.

This is a really cool spot. I only got coffee here and it was quite tasty. I wish we had ordered lunch from this location as well. Looking forward to trying out the food in the future. The outdoor seating is great and has charging stations! How thoughtful!

Great food and ambience. My one note is that some of the dishes are not practical and difficult to eat. For example the butter lettuce salad was not chopped and was just the leaves which was fine to cut but just not ideal. The bread for the appetizer was hard to split as well. More though should go into the eating experience. The flavors were great though.

Interior is modern and clean, including the surrounding buildings. The sandwiches come with a salad which was fresh. Came during holiday time with reduced menu. Thought the turkey press was ok ingredients were fresh but not a standout. Also got a turkey wrap which was better. More like 3.5 stars.

Decent place for a quick bite. Had a Caprese sandwitch and a Mahalo Aloha bowl with chicken katsu. Both orders were of generous portions. Friendly customer service and sittings available both inside and outside. Since it’s within the University settings there are plenty of outdoor sittings available and quite comfortable as well. Free wifi available too.

I work on the west side of UCI’s campus and this restaurant is super convenient. I often go for lunch – good food and ok price. Today I had a busy day. Sign on the door says they close at 3pm. I walk in and go to the end station to get a salad. The person behind the station says “we stop serving at 2:30pm”. I was confused because the door on the sign says 3pm. A second worker stated the same thing to me unsolicited. They then say you can go to the cafe and purchase items there. It was 2:38pm. I again ask the young lady at check out and she says “we stop serving food at 2:30pm.” I pick up a juice and ask for a cookie. I then say it would be helpful if your sign on the door was accurate. She then gives me an heavy sigh full of attitude. I paused and inquired as to why the poor response and customer service. The tall girl next to her then chimes in and says “we stop serving food at 2:30pm”. Now they are both rude and unprofessional. I ask for a manager. They continue with the unprofessional behavior. The manager comes out and I realize that she’s the super friendly person who is usually at the counter. I thank her addressing my concerns and decline to purchase anything. While I’m talking the tall worker continues with the under her breath comments and rude behavior. I asked the manager to have her move away from us so that I could continue my conversation with her. I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant. Not anymore. This entire encounter was so unnecessary.

My husband and I arrived at this restaurant at 2:20pm. The staff told us that they closed at 3:00 and were out of items. It would take 20 minutes to cook a few items. The response was lackluster and I sensed ordering the airline chicken was not preferred because they were closing. The staff were not friendly. I opted for the Salmon with two sides. My sides were cold but supposed to be hot. My seared salmon was tasty until I saw it was entirely raw except for the seared part. I asked the staff if my salmon was supposed to be cooked more. They said no and did not offer to put it back on the grill. I have never eaten salmon so raw except for Sushi. My salmon wasn’t even hot. All the sides were pre-cooked and sitting out. This place appears to have pre-made items and then they are warmed up after ordering. My husband ordered a sandwich which was sitting out already made and they just heated it up. All the reviews stated this food was fresh and hot. Perhaps this may be true if you come early in the day. Beware of coming later in the day as you are getting leftovers from the lunch rush. I expected more from a 4.5 rated restaurant. Our lunch cost 40 dollars but I felt very disappointed. For that price, at least make a fresh sandwich. The restaurant was modern and clean. I liked the idea of the food hall concept with different food stations but this place fell flat for me. The atmosphere was great but I would not ever return due to the food.

Follow up to KimTheJ’s review:

I was a customer seated who overheard the entire exchange between KimTheJ and the employees of Herb & Ranch. The employees were professional and stated multiple times that the kitchen closed and they could not serve her. Although I understand frustration of missing the kitchen hours, almost all restaurants operate like this, and I applaud the employees for their professionalism despite the continuous badgering from KimTheJ. Love the food and cookies here, and maybe don’t trust someone’s google review who gives 1 stars to almost all restaurants she visits .
