If you love a speakeasy feel and Omakase and a good time this is the place to be. We have been by this place multiple times, trying out the other restaurants in Royal Palm, however After being reminded again, seeing a sister location at the PGA resort, decided to try this location out.

One liner: if I’m rating solely on the food would give it a four out of five stars, however, as described below because of the experience would upgrade to five out of five stars.

We will say it a nice touch to have such a small restaurant as a result, though the quarters are quite tight. Well, the concept is technically a more intimate experiences. There is a limited number of seats at the counter because of the spacing you are pretty much in the next parties conversation, and as a result, you lose that sense of intimacy. However, the service more than makes up for it. It seems like everyone has their dedicated chef. Our chef was Jeff and he was beyond fantastic. We were laughing the whole time and he made the experience. We decided to go with the upgraded Omakase experience and got to try some additional pieces in between the set course. Ended with some BOU –zy If it’s not part of the menu, but it was actually so delicious and came in a cute little container. Overall, the omakase is tasty, Is it the freshest I’ve ever had: No. Do I rate it up there with some of our favorite New York City omakase spots? Hm sure yet- will need to try again. But does the service make up for that: absolutely. The Omakase experience is exactly that it’s an immersing yourself and an evening of entertainment of labor and of exploration and that’s exactly what they deliver on. Please continue to appreciate the staff who are there as they are truly carrying the experience and the brand!

Sushi by Bou in East Boca is sooooo darn good. Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s omakase only. And yes… it’s worth it.

Tucked into what used to be the original AlleyCat space, it’s small and intimate but done right. Cozy without feeling claustrophobic. Just enough room to feel exclusive without feeling trapped in someone’s pantry.

The chefs were fantastic. Engaging, confident, and clearly proud of what they’re serving. The fish? Top tier. The kind where you take a bite and immediately stop talking.

The uni is still living rent-free in my head. The tuna was incredible, but that’s almost expected at this level. I’m not usually a raw shrimp fan, so I asked them to torch it (and I thrilled that they did). Exactly how I wanted it. Perfect texture, slight char, still delicate. Yum.

The only thing I’d pass on is the Big Mac. It’s creative, sure, but it’s overkill. Uni, scallop, toro, wagyu… it felt like someone said, “Let’s put everything expensive on one bite.” Sometimes less is more.

If you’re looking for a great date spot or something different while staying in Boca, this is it. I honestly can’t think of another place locally that compares to the experience.

Bonus: tons of parking since it’s in Royal Palm just south of Mizner Park. No valet stress, no circling the block.

Pricey? Yes. Memorable? Absolutely.

Chef Tim — 10/10 experience.
Every bite was thoughtful, balanced, and incredibly fresh. The progression of the sushi was spot-on, with standout flavors that felt both creative and respectful of the fish. You can tell how much care and precision goes into each piece. Thank you for such a memorable omakase — can’t wait to come back!

Aside from the fact that they weren’t able to serve my father and stepmother several of the drinks they had asked for due to availability, this location was still a great experience overall. The service was amazing, the food was incredible—as it always is at any Sushi by Bou location—and the vibes were great.

If you’ve ever been to the Las Olas location, I think a lot would agree it was something special. Unfortunately, it has since closed. While the Great Gatsby–themed atmosphere at this location is fun, I think it ultimately comes down to personal preference. The Las Olas location had a cool disco vibe that felt completely different, and I absolutely loved it (maybe because I’m younger).

That said, if you love sushi and aren’t a picky eater, Sushi by Bou is a must. I will always recommend this place to anyone I know!

Cute theming, nice quality ingredients overall. Not the best omakase in the area, but still ok with comfortable ingredients for folks who may be a bit newer to this style of creative nigiri.

Some cons: pricy for what you get and feels a bit rushed. Even though we were are the bar, it felt hard to get chef’s attention. We were looking to add on some hand rolls, and we were told we needed to order them from the chef. Getting the chef’s attention to do so was a little difficult.

The cheapest dinner is nice for the price but some bites weren’t particularly astounding. Some pieces weren’t as fresh as I’d wished.

Overall, it’s a cute spot if you want flashier theming for your omakase. But I found myself missing other omakase places I’ve been to while I was here.

One of the positives of having ir fight cancelled today was that we found this gem. Sushi was impeccable! Chef Raul was incredible and provided superb service! All the staff there were quite friendly, and it’s evident they all work well together! Glad to hear there are 29 locations!

This place is so overrated that it’s scary.
Firstly the parking at the Boca Raton location is a disaster. Be prepared to spend some time to drive around until a spot opens. There is no valet service.
For the restaurant itself, the sushi nigiri was quite excellent. Everything we tasted was very good. The biggest issue is that the service feels rushed and more importantly is the sushi chefs have zero personality and did not interact at all with the people who are all sitting directly in front of them. They merely just prepared the sushi.
I communicated that it was my wife’s birthday when we booked and despite the hostess wishing her a happy birthday when we arrived nothing else was done during the dinner. A very big miss on their part.
There are so many great sushi restaurants in the area that this one proved to be a huge disappointment and not worth the money.

Top freaking notch! The food and Chefs from Bou are always excellent — but the vibe and energy at this location was so amazing and fun! It was my wife’s birthday and Nicole the hostess and the chefs were non stop having a blast. The whole restaurant got in to it! Did not see that coming! 10/10 would recommend and the sushi is always superb!

I was extremely disappointed with the Sushi by Boa – Boca Raton location. This visit was intended to be a special experience, as we were using a $200 gift card purchased after an outstanding experience at the Albany, NY location.

Unfortunately, when the check arrived, we were informed that the gift card would not be accepted. The manager was dismissive and insisted that my card—used only to hold the reservation—had already been charged and could not be reversed, leaving no opportunity to apply the gift card. The interaction was unprofessional and lacked any effort to resolve the issue.

Additionally, we were seated approximately 30 minutes late and then rushed through the meal. The experience is advertised as a 90-minute dining experience, which we did not receive.

While I believe the Sushi by Boa concept itself is excellent and have previously enjoyed it at another location, I cannot recommend the Boca Raton location based on this experience.
