Visited El Toreado at 4521 Fleur Dr in Des Moines and had an awesome experience. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out hot and fresh. Everything tasted flavorful and made-to-order, and the portions were generous.
Great spot for a relaxed meal (and a drink) without feeling rushed. If you’re in the area and want solid Mexican food with great service, El Toreado is definitely worth a stop.

The carne asada was amazing! The portion sizes were huge — some of the biggest I’ve ever seen. It was definitely worth the price. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Mexican food!

Our host/server Rey was fantastic!! He made us feel welcomed as soon as we walked it. He was friendly and genuine. The mixed fajitas were well seasoned. As well as the beans and rice! The salsa had a great little kick to it! We will definitely be back.

My husband took me & our boys here for a late lunch on a Sunday. First time experience was great. The food was very good, served hot & fresh. The restaurant was clean, & I loved the decor. The gal (Edith, I think) who seated us, & brought us out our food was really kind. We’ll definitely visit again!

Absolutely amazing service!! Very, very friendly. The food was great as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. We had steak burritos, steak fajitas, and El Patron. All dishes were cooked to perfection. And did I mention the fast and extremely friendly service? We will definitely be back soon.

This definitely might be the worst meal ive ever bought. Something that somewhat resembled over cooked mushy rice that has been in the warmer for a couple days was put inside my burrito to ruin the entire thing because it was mixed in with other things.. along with bland beans that had no taste at all.
When I called to tell them how terrible it was, the lady on the phone couldn’t understand and the phone call was exhausting.
They told me if it was already eaten. They couldn’t do anything. Lol who in the world would eat this?
Finally in the end they told me if I brought the food back they can refund the money and I was long back at work at that time.
