Called in an order , lady hung up on me once, had to call back (should’ve took that as a sign). Then the chicken katsu was burnt , bbq beef was salty, bbq chicken was dry and tasted funny. Everything was very nasty and tasted off. My Dad had some as well and it made him sick. Also, one total was stated on the phone when ordered but upon arrival $4 was added to that total. This was a result of asking for sriracha. Smh.

We brought the whole family, kids and grandparents included, and everyone left happy. The staff was incredibly patient, helping us push tables together and bringing extra plates for sharing. The huli-huli chicken was juicy and smoky, and the kids devoed their pineapple fried rice. The restaurant had a lively, colorful atmosphere that rked perfectly for families.

You can’t beat the price!! They make the Chicken Katsu super crispy, just how I like. My go-to smoothie is the Hawaiian Sunset. If you like the Raspberry Fuze tea, they have it available as a fountain drink (this is something my husband and I search for when we eat out because its not available everywhere, hence the mention)
Another go-to is the Galbi plate. Most galbi plates are $20+. I’m happy to get the same thing here for $12. (I know economy isn’t great right now but please don’t change! )
As someone who’s dabbled in Pacific Island food all their life, I’m not a big fan of their Mac Salad as it seems to be missing something. Possibly vinegar, which most Mainland Hawaiian spots seem to not do, I realize. Or maybe they do and it’s just not alot (I like acidity). I always ask for extra steamed veggies as a substitute it.
We typically do takeout because it’s close enough to home. Can’t say much for the atmosphere as it makes me feel like it’s still following Covid protocols from 2021. I’ve always expected it to be this way since I found this place, so I’m not bothered by it. The owners and workers have a right to feel safe in their own establishment. You can most definitely dine-in! It’s just dead silent most of the time.
Overall, this is our #1 place to go when we dont want to cook at home!!!

best Hawaiian bbq in Sac. no question. ESPECIALLY for the price. get the same quality as the chains, or better, in half the time, for nearly half the price, AND more food… oh my GOODNESS do they load you up for less than $11!! they couldn’t possibly fill the container higher… i have a big appetite, and it ALWAYS fills me up.
that barbecue chicken is my favourite, it’s LITERALLY as perfectly cooked as it gets… tender and juicy with *just* the right amount of char on the outside, gets me hungry just thinking about it… great rewards program, nice folks, always very quick service… oh, and their smoothies are incredible too!! the only small, small thing i think they could improve upon is biodegradable packaging instead of styrofoam and plastic, but i understand that stuff’s expensive… still, if each plate cost a tiny bit more for the earth friendly packaging, you’d still catch me here just as much!!
