I got dinner from here with a coworker on our meal break. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff listening to good music. The chef gave us samples of the food he made so that we could decide what to get. I got a chicken soup and let me tell you, this chicken soup was no joke. It was masterfully crafted. My homie got the brown chicken stew and he really liked it. I also had a side of rasta pasta and it was flavorful. There isn’t that much space to eat in the restaurant, so we took it to go. Overall, it was a great dinner that enhanced my night at work.

Sunshine cuisine was suggested by friend as best Jamaican food in town. As I was walking in, I didn’t know what to expect. While they only offer very limited inside seating, if you are willing to order or pick up food – you will experience real flavors of Jamaican food.
Friendly service, great value and more than anything delicious food!

Ordered curry goat, rice & peas and cabbage. My boyfriend had the stew chicken with the same sides. Both dishes were delicious and tasted fresh at 6 pm. Will definitely order again. My boyfriend said he will ask for less rice next time as he had more rice than meat. Overall a solid spot if you want good Jamaican food in Stamford ❤️

The food was so good. We came to town for the weekend all 5 of us had the oxtail rice and peas. We also had some fried plantain and fried dumplings. The customer service was amazing. They were very kind and generous. We really appreciated it. God bless you!

Great, authentic… You can smell the delicious food cooking from a half block away. The interior has a little bar area to sit and nice decor.

The food itself is very flavorful and true to its Jamaican roots. One of the best caribbean restaurants I’ve been to in the area! Had some takeout and the people working here were some of the nicest I’ve met!

After trying a few places this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant in Stamford. They are so friendly and accommodating. The salmon pasta is the best I ever had. Fresh dumplings and fish is made to order. Even the cabbage is the best I ever tasted from a Jamaican restaurant. I will always continue to support this business

As other reviewers suggested, their staff is A+. Warm and endearing, I’d come back if just to say hello.

For this review I tried the small orders of their curry chicken, and their jerk chicken, as well as their patties.

My initial thought is that the chicken is fall-off-the-bone delicious. Especially the jerk chicken. I really wish there was more of it, since I ended up filling on rice and peas, and the portions don’t guarantee a full piece of chicken. One meal had two legs (jerk chicken ), while the other was mostly bone pieces (curry). Overall, I wish their seasoning had more salt; make sure to add extra gravy to your dish.

The two patties were quite good, as well. Both were super flaky with a warm filling. The chicken curry patty is among the best I’ve had. Flaky & gooey perfection. The beef patty, although a favorite, isn’t as delectable as the chicken, with a slight gamey flavor. I wish the flavor of their curry chicken patty was on their main dish…it’s that good!

Overall, this place in this neighborhood is a refreshing addition. It’s hard to miss if you’re driving, and make sure to make plans for take out since there’s a very limited number of seats, and sitting in groups is out of the question.
