Saw this place on fox6 and decided to check it out. The food was amazing! Got a chicken tikka bowl and swapped the beets for carrots and added some spicy pickled peppers. Owner still gave me a tiny side of beets that were actually not bad (I hate beets). I ate this bowl soooo fast. I also ordered a goa blues lassi that was phenomenal! I can’t stop thinking about this place and cannot wait to go back. The owner seemed very passionate about cooking, making the drinks and customer service. I felt at home at this place and loved every second of it! Thank you Rutas for a memorable experience that I can’t stop thinking about! They even had a plant that matched my hoodie.

It’s one of my local faves. I love how you are able to build your iwn bowl or take one of their suggested combinations. I’ve even straight vegan bowls, vegetarian bowls and omnivour bowls, and ebery combination we’ve had had been excellent and so fresh. The staff/owners are lovely and so jnviting. The place has a great aura to eat in, and we love the artwork painted on the walls or displayed. The cardamom mango or rose petal drinks are so delicious. The sides are delectable. You’ll go back multiple times.

Loved our experience at Ruta’s! The staff was very helpful in guiding us to build our bowls. Our group included a vegan, vegetarian and omnivore and we all were VERY happy with our delicious dinners. I love how we could customize to get exactly what we wanted – and everything was so good!! Service was very quick as well. Somehow Ruta mastered all these flavors and making everything taste fresh without having to wait. I was thrilled to see she also sells a cookbook (and spice set!). Hopefully I can come close to replicating some of these amazing dishes.

I’ve always loved Ruta’s and frequently visited their old location. I love their new make your own bowl! (It’s kind of like Indian food meet chipotle but way way better and with super fresh ingredients). I’m also dairy free and they have vegan options which is great. It’s so flavorful and I highly recommend this hidden gem!!

Ruta’s is a healthy and supremely satisfying option for lunch or dinner. They offer many many unique vegetables sides, sauces, and flavor combinations that you can’t experience anywhere else in Milwaukee. There are lighter options like kale salad with a green chutney dressing and naan chips, but also heartier choices like pork bowls, curries, and naan melts. Get in there!
