The food here was excellent!! There are no public restrooms, at least not at the moment, but if needed, you can order, go across the street to the public library, and then come back. That should be about perfect timing for your meal to be ready anyway. I got a recommended hot dog and mac and cheez, and my fiancé got the chicken salad. You might want to say easy on the dressing if you get a salad, but, regardless, your taste buds will thank you. Everything was delicious and the service was great! We ate outside at the cute patio area. I highly recommend this restaurant to vegans and non-vegans alike. Give it a try!

Super friendly staff and tasty vegan options. Hot dog is spot on. The falafel salad is fresh and tasty. We also got the black bean burger which was tasty. Please come out and support this great local business. Staff also told me samosas may be making it onto the menu! Stay tuned!!!

The last time I came to Roanoke I had a very disappointing experience at a different vegan restaurant. I was a little nervous to try another place out but these guys really redeemed the Roanoke vegan food scene in my eyes.

The chili dogs were incredible. Really my favorite part of the meal. The chili had a sweetness to it that I wouldn’t usually like (I’m a spicy chili type guy) but it really works with the rest of the flavors.

The cheesesteak was also good. It wasn’t the best vegan Cheesesteak I’ve ever had, but it was tasty.

Got my daughter the chicken nuggets and onion rings. I tried them and I gotta say those are some incredible vegan nuggets. The onion rings were sold. The Mac and cheese won me over as I was eating it. At first I didn’t care for it, by the end I wanted more.

Only negative critique I had was the fries were kinda bland. Not bad, but we didn’t eat all the fries.

Other than that, it was a perfect experience. The atmosphere is really dope, the food was great, the owners seemed cool, and they have corn hole in the back seating area. Oh and the home made agave Arnold Palmer hit the spot something serious! Highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Roanoke.

This was our go to spot during our time in Roanoke. Delicious every single time! Highly recommend the grilled greens salad. The Thomas dogs were a definitely favorite. Everything we tried was delicious. Steak sub, spicy chicken, chili cheese fries, taco salad. highly recommend Screaming Vegan for both vegans and non-vegans alike.

Went there today with my daughters (we’re vegan) and my sister (meat-eater), and all four of us were blown away. We had the cheesesteak, patty melt, chili cheese burger, oyster mushroom po’ boy, and the chili dog. Mac & cheese, onion rings, lemon pepper fries. I am still stuffed but my mouth is now watering again as I look at our food pictures. We’re out-of-towners but we visit Roanoke regularly and we cannot wait to come back. Sometimes with burgers/American-style food, it can all start tasting the same. But that was not at all true here. The po’ boy is a special but they should make it a permanent menu item – the perfectly breaded, crispy shrooms, slaw and delicious remolaude sauce…it was everything I hoped it would be and more. And that chili sausage dog…like all of it, it was sloppy, gooey, cheesy deliciousness all the way. Dying to go back. Thank you Screamin Vegans!

The vegan steak and gravy dinner was delicious!! The side of green beans was mouthwatering. It was a very good first experience from this restaurant. The prices were higher than expected, and there is no indoor or outdoor seating, so we took our food to go, but the service was great.

Nice little take out place. Delicious food! They were out of a lot of what I wanted because they’re a very popular place. I got the mushroom oyster po boy, fries, and Mac and cheese. It was all delicious! Very colorful exterior with painted parking spaces so that was cool too!

Thought I’d check out the screaming vegan while in town. They definitely did not disappoint. I ordered the patty melt. Forget it being vegan for a minute, and this was one of the best patty melts I’ve ever had. It was juicy, messy, nicely grilled bread and packed with so much flavor. The fries were really good skin on fries. If you haven’t yet, go check them out.

I rarely come back to review restaurants on here… but WOW! The Screaming Vegan just gained a new customer. Sadly being in Blacksburg it’s a little far, but I will definitely make the trip to Roanoke just for this. The area looks a little rough at first, but everyone was complete kind, and I’ve learned that those small local restaurants overdeliver on everything else. The inside was extremely well kept & clean, the people behind the counter were friendly & helpful without coming off as fake, and the cook did some MAGIC back there, on top of it all the prices were extremely fair. The steak sub was incredible (haven’t had anything like that in awhile and I can’t suggest it enough), my girlfriend said that her nuggets were the best plant-based nuggets she’s had, and we seriously considered driving back that night for those chili-cheese-fries. In summary: Even if the Screaming Vegan it’s out of your way, if you’re at all seeing this restaurant show up on Google, you gotta try it! Don’t miss out.
