Beautiful restaurant. First visit and we were not impressed with the service. They seemed to understand English until we were overcharged and I questioned them. The food was ok. I agree with Damon’s suggestion (review below). Check your ticket before paying. There is better Mexican food and service in Lexington. There were very few people inside so that should have been a clue.

The music coming from the back kitchen was extremely loud — we could clearly hear it from our table. When we asked for it to be turned down, staff were kind and adjusted it, but within about 10 minutes it was turned back up to the same volume. In addition, the music being played was very inappropriate for a dining environment. Due to the noise level and atmosphere, we chose to leave before ordering food.

Relatively new restaurant, very good service, servers were all very amicable and happy. They seemed to like where they were working. The food was delicious and the presentation was very good. The bathrooms were clean and the ambiance was very pleasant. I love the decor and details around the restaurant. The area is spacious and you don’t feel like you are eating with the table next to you. There is a lot of parking spaces, free to park and the area is very comfortable and safe.

Tables are spaced so that you are not butting against other people. Staff is polite. Food is really good. There are many good Mexican restaurants in the area. This one goes a step beyond. Those who frequent these types of restaurants will notice the extra things that they do, putting them above the others.

I’ve only dined here for lunch. The food and service has always been good and pretty consistent. However, the past few months I’ve noticed a trend where I am never charged the correct amount. For example, today I had a lunch entree listed as $8.99 but was charged $14.99. This has happened every single time since I started watching for it. At first, it was just $2+ or so and I assumed they just hadn’t updated the menu, but now I feel like it’s systematic.
So, I won’t give 1 star since the food and service is actually good but the deceptive pricing should have anyone alarmed.

This place is a hidden gem that I highly recommend trying. Unless you live in the Chinoe area of Lexington, you have probably never even heard of El Azteca Mexican Grill, but trust me it is well worth trying out. This restaurant is stunningly beautiful and exceptionally clean (check out the pictures that I posted with this review). The family that runs it is friendly and you can tell that they take pride in their business. I ordered the chicken fajitas and they were delicious. My son had a chicken burrito meal covered in their cheese dip and he loved it. The owner stopped by twice and checked on us and our server never let our drinks run out. Take a turn off the beaten path and try one of Lexington’s best Mexican restaurants. I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

We ordered for delivery, and we got confirmation that our order had been received. We eventually received a message that said our food would be delivered in 5 minutes. So we waited…and waited…and waited some more. After an hour or so we called back and were told that a tablet had malfunctioned and that our order had NOT been received, or it had been canceled, but it had miraculously been prepared. They assured us that it was now on its way. We offered a tip, but it was refused ( no offer of any kind of discount). It took another half hour for our order to arrive although we onlylive a mile and a half from El Azteca. I tried to smile when the food finally arrived, but a muted thank you was all I could muster. Was the food good? Probably. I didn’t ask. I had lost my appetite having waited for several hours so I have my food to the dogs. They seemed to enjoy it.

I had the best Pollo Hawaiian here. Deliciously prepared beyond my expectations. Meal was served with steamed mixed vegetables and rice. The rice was seasoned lightly and not dried out I have had on other restaurants. Them environment is happy and well lit. Service was very good.

They always take good care of us here! Friendly service with a smile! More Selections than other local Mexican restaurants. Definitely recommend everyone to give it a try! They have live music some nights as well.

This was our first visit to El Azteca. We had guacamole with our chips. It was chunky and delicious. My husband had the Burrito California. He loved it, full of steak and vegetables with no rice. He hates rice as a filler in burritos. I had Chile Colorado. The menu said spicy chunks of pork. It was so flavorful and delicious but dear Lord, the spicy I could only eat 3 pieces and I paid dearly for 2 days. We also tried a Cheese Enchilada with both available sauces. Outstanding enchilada! We will definitely be back once my digestive system has recovered from the heat…
