I ordered delivery from them earlier today via the Firehouse website. I had a simple order; a medium French Dip, and an order of their Macaroni and Cheese.
The French Dip arrived without Au Jus. I was a bit disappointed, so when I got a survey request, I filled it out and marked the overall star rating at a 3, saying that the whole point of the French Dip is to get the Au Jus with it. That was going to be the end of it; I wasn’t asking for anything, I was sharing my feedback.
Fast forward an hour, and I get a response from the restaurant! Except it’s a canned response and a very fun addition at the very end.
“Hi Jacob, I appreciate your feedback regarding the missing Au Jus with your French Dip. I understand how disappointing it can be when something essential is overlooked, and I’ll ensure the team is made aware to prevent this in the future. If you have any further comments or concerns, please feel free to share. We hope to see you back at Firehouse Subs soon! If you look at your receipt, that is how it was ordered “no au ju”.”
After a few more back and forth communications with the franchise owner, it became immediately clear that there was a snafu between me placing the order and it being sent to the restaurant. My receipt clearly shows that I ordered Au Jus. To prove a point, I even purchased a second sub, this time intentionally modifying the sandwich to request “no Au Jus”. Guess what? The receipt correctly showed my “No Au Jus” request”! I was willing to write all of this off until the store decided, ten minutes ago, to leave yet another response on the review thread, saying “responded to the guest with a picture of his order”, as if I am somehow still in the wrong. So now, I come to Google, because I’m tired of the way I continue to be gaslit.
What I don’t need, appreciate, or respect is having someone try to gaslight me over the order that I placed. I wasn’t asking for a free sub, I wasn’t asking for literally anything, I was providing a review on my experience today. The review was private, and for now, so is the communication. But this has been an absolutely terrible experience over truly nothing, all because the store couldn’t say “you’re right, we’re sorry”.
Treat your customers better.
Then theres Sawmill Rd… ♂️.
Still worth driving down to Firehouse, Blick…etc
New fries were … deceiving..in a good way. You only need a few to get full and Taste AMAZING!!!! Crunchy outside, soft fluffy inside. And just the right amount.
