This place feels random, but don’t be deceived by the casual decor and old diner like atmosphere. We stopped for a quick lunch and were very pleasantly surprised by the fantastic food. It feels home made but the sandwiches and soup tasted wonderful. The two girls working there were very pleasant and friendly.

Good Old Fashioned Soda Fountain Vibes! At first, I also had a coconut italian soda which was okay. The I had a basil chicken pesto sandwich and it had good flavor, I am not the biggest fan of the vinagarette I believe it was, but it did add decent flavor. Then it was time for dessert, I had a rootbeer float. MAKE SURE YOU STIR IT!!! At first it was awful but then I mixed it and I felt like I needed a 1950s poodle skirt- it was fabulous. Partner had a cheeseburger which looked like it was from a commercial and a s’mores sundae. I had a bite and it was yummy. We ended up getting two lil’ stuffed animals from the giftshop.

We were visiting from Seattle, so we visited OWL twice in two days. I noticed that some reviews said the service was bad, but we had great service both times. The prices were average, but the quality and scoop size was above average. 🙂
OWL’s window has a sticker claiming they are a bike friendly business and that definitely seems to be true. There is a ton of bike parking right outside the walk-up window, and it’s not just your standard setup. There is a bike repair station with a repair stand and a vending machine that contained a variety of essentials, including tubes, bars/gels, energy drinks, CO2, etc. There are also two bike shops in the immediate vicinity. (We stopped in Cycle Central and were thoroughly impressed by their store setup and friendly service.)
They serve Umpqua ice cream here, and it was delicious. The flavors on the menu were all pretty normal, but there was a pretty long list so you’re sure to find one that you like. Over the two days, my wife and I got a banana split and two brownie sundaes. They were large and hit the spot after a long ride on a hot summer day. The brownie sundae came with a huge brownie, but there was actually too much sauce for my tastes.
There was not a lot of seating, but we were able to find a table and a high chair both times. They have a cool, old-fashioned bar (as expected), but it just won’t work for small children. Since they have a gift shop too, I think it will be really cramped when they get busy. There is a bathroom in the first floor of the building. It’s locked, so ask one of the OWL employees for the key. The bathroom did not have baby changing tables.

Drawn in by the vintage look, this shop has some tasty treats for all. Locally owned, too, ‘Mom’ was even helping out ‘Daughter’ with some last minute touches to the chocolate bombs.
A great layout, you can pick feom vintage candy and to the delicious shakes rhey prepare right before your eyes. Also, I snagged some great stocking stuffers for my aunts with the scented wax. If you can make it a stop before you leave town, it’s well worth it!

This place is wonderful. The staff is always kind and the treats are always sweet. My husband loves the cherry soda icecream, and I love the strawberry soda icecream. I’ve also had a strawberry phosphate and it was beautiful. They use actual fruit for their ingredients, not just flavoring, and that makes all the difference.
You can get it to-go. They currently do not have seating inside the shop, but there are Covid spaces tables and chairs just outside the doors.

My mom grew up with soda fountains. It was great to stumble upon the owl soda fountain while visiting friends in the area. Everything was delicious!

We have a tradition to get ice cream as a family every year on the last day of school. We came in today with our boys at the end of the day and you all were so hospitable and friendly. We were so glad we chose to celebrate at your business. Thanks for treating us so well. <3
Also we loved the jukebox music.

This is an adorable mini diner like place. The sweets are diabolically delicious. The baked goods are a must have, and the phosphate sodas are cheap and tasty! It’s a fun go to spot for a little treat, or even a quick bite to eat. The ice cream is super tasty. The staff is wonderful, patient and kind. It’s hard to find such wonderful treats with a great atmosphere anymore. And this place clicks all the good buttons!
