Great experience. I recommend visiting around midday as that’s their quieter times and we didn’t queue at all.

The singing is fantastic and obviously what you go there for however the food was OK, not much flavour.

I saw reviews about the tip box being constant but we only had it once and you wasn’t pressured.

For 2x burgers, fries and 2 soft drinks was $86 including a 20% tip that was automatically added to the bill so it was clear on our visit by the staff you didn’t have to cash tip.

A unique dining experience must try. We came here for our daughter’s birthday. You have to wait in line as no reservations so be prepared to stand in line, we waited about 1.5 hrs to get table. You walk into servers serving food and singing songs from broadway plays as well as other songs. It is a lively fun experience while you enjoy your meal. The food was good with vegetarian options. We especially loved the nachos. The drinks were good as well nothing exceptional but still good. Our daughter enjoyed hearing all the Broadway songs and the servers did a fanatic job.

The Stardust Diner was an absolute blast — truly one of those New York experiences you can’t fully understand until you’re sitting there in the middle of it. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it.

From the moment you walk in, the energy is electric. Talented performers are singing their hearts out while serving food, and somehow it all works — no gimmicks, just real skill, joy, and commitment. It’s fun, it’s theatrical, and it feels unmistakably NYC.

Huge shout-out to Nicole, who gave us fantastic service and delivered a beautiful ballad that stopped grabbed everyone’s attention. That kind of talent paired with genuine hospitality is something special.
The food hits the spot, the vibe is nonstop, and the experience is unforgettable.

This isn’t just a meal — it’s entertainment, nostalgia, and celebration rolled into one. If you’re in New York and want something joyful, loud, and uniquely memorable, Ellen’s Stardust Diner is a must.

We’ve been to Ellen’s Stardust Diner twice — the most recent visit was in the summer when we brought friends. Just like always, no matter what time you arrive, there’s a long line outside. It has become part of the experience at this point.

The biggest highlight of this diner is definitely the singing waitstaff. They don’t just serve your food and take your order — they perform amazing Broadway-style songs right in front of you. It’s such a fun and unique atmosphere! Many of them are hoping to make it onto Broadway someday, so this place feels like a stepping stone for real talent.

Now… the food. Let’s just say you’re not here for a Michelin-star meal. It’s very average diner food, maybe even a bit below that. Nothing terrible, but definitely not why you come here. You’re paying for the show, the energy, the nostalgia, and the one-of-a-kind entertainment.

So if you’re visiting New York with friends or family and want something memorable (and loud), this is the place. Come for the singing — not the menu.

Lovely place. Got seated right away, and the staff were incredibly friendly. They did multiple singing live performances and everyone loved it. Every single item we got was not only delicious, but incredibly well portioned. Very colorful and incredible atmosphere. Gives you the feeling that you’re in an actual broadway musical. The chicken and waffles were delicious, and the milkshakes are a must try. Definitely coming back soon.

MLK Weekend 2026: My daughter & I visited for our 1st NYC trip & her 18th Birthday! What a fabulous experience! Great entertainment, service, & food! The line to wait was LONG, but the time it took to get seated was relatively QUICK! Probably 30 people deep in line, sat within 15 minutes! Hope to go back & take friends & family!

This was a unique and enjoyable experience. I had the reuben with Waffle, fries and my dining partner had the meatloaf. Both were delicious! The talented wait staff take it and turn to sing favorite broadway hits. The decor is on point. I will be back!

What a fun place to have a meal! The long line to get inside is definitely justified — and don’t be daunted because the waiting isn’t as long as it may look. Inside you enter a buzz of activity and entertainment. Non-stop singing by a talented wait staff makes for a memorable meal. And the food is pretty darn good. We enjoyed burgers and sandwiches for lunch and the portions were large and tasty Overall, an incredibly fun experience and a can’t miss if you are visiting NYC.

Queued for 45 minutes outside in the freezing cold. The seating guy went down the queue finding large groups or 4+ and hooking them to the front, leaving all the 2s to wait. Once inside, the atmosphere is amazing and worth the wait. The staff have zero idea about dietary requirements, allergies or vegans, but you’re not there for the food. The burrito was good though. It’s so so expensive! They add 20% automatically to the bill, ask for tips on top of that and walk around with a bucket and don’t move past until you put money in. Good experience, you should go, but it’s very expensive.

WHAT A VIBE!! ❤️
It’s one diner that everyone should visit atleast once. The servers are also performers and each one of them is a brilliant performer. It was one of the best nights we had in New York.

The food was also good and service was great. We were amazed to see how every server was performing and attending to guests with such ease and promptness.
