Hands down, the best in town. The lonches did not disappoint. The owner was friendly, along with his employee. They were welcoming, and this will be my go-to when I’m in town.

Some of the best home cooked food in a restaurant setting I’ve had in my life. They have a taco stand outside with all the usual fare, done very well, but the real treat is sitting down inside. Any meal of the day they have some extrodinary waiting. It’s all cooked fresh, and some items like fish are subject to the whims of the sea (but when they have it, it’s worth it, Madre dios is it worth it).

Excellent food, excellent service, I can’t recommend this off street restaurant any more. It’s only slightly our of the way, but right next to the strip club Vampiz. It’s easy to find and you will glad that you do.

I don’t know why it took me so long to stop in to Santana’s. I get tortillas down the street every time I’m in NP. Anyway, my wife and I went there for an early lunch yesterday. I’m sure everything is good but all I can vouch for personally (so far) are Milanesa de res and Milanesa Mexicana. Excellent! The beans and rice on the side were perfect. The Milanesas were tender and not too greasy (they have to be a LITTLE greasy, right?). The people are friendly. I’ll definitely be back and work my way down the menu.
[update 23-Feb-18] Went back yesterday while my wife was getting her teeth cleaned. It was a drizzly day so it was good to sit down out of the chill. There was no one else eating but people came and went with take out orders. I had the Chilaquiles w/ chicken (pollo) and green chile (salsa verde). The proprietor tried to sell me on the Chilaquiles “especiales” which has an added cut of steak (bistek) but I wanted to establish a baseline. The food was great. Good flavor, good texture. I’m pretty picky about Chilaquiles but this definitely passed my threshold. If you don’t like your food to bite back a little, however, you might want to get it without the salsa.
