Zack’s is located in a historically rich section of Hoboken. Zack’s corner building was constructed in the late 1880’s and originally housed a grocery store catering to the diverse immigrant population. When the commercial property was converted to a tavern in 1892, the current mahogany and oak bar was installed and it soon became a hub of activity, specifically for merchants and sailors stopping at the bar on their way home or to a SRO (single room occupancy). Keeping with its rich history, Zack’s has maintained its old world charm and appeal, preserving original tin ceilings, the oak bar, replicating the 19th century tiled floor, and adorning the walls with street scenes of old Hoboken. The result, a classic feel with modern execution.

Zack’s has a nice atmosphere; brunch is quiet enough to catch up with friends and during the day the entire bar looks beautiful. The food was simple and to the point. The steak was a little overdone. I particularly loved the lemon ricotta pancakes. I just wish they had a mimosas offering (bottomless maybe?)

Came here to celebrate my anniversary with my wife. Saw it had a good rating and the upscale ambience would make the night feel special. Walked in at our reserved time and was seated immediately and waited for our server. And waited and waited and waited and waited. I thought maybe by going to the bathroom they would notice us,I mean it wasn’t hard we still had menus, no drinks (not even water) and we’re sitting right in the middle of the restaurant, but the waiter kept going to other tables except ours. After 25 mins of waiting my wife and I left informing the hostess of what occurred. She seemed nonplussed and called my phone a few minutes later saying “oh there was a mixup between the waiters.” Hmm I wonder why that was? They offered us drinks on them as if that would fix the embarrassment of sitting at a restaurant for half an hour without being waited on and having to walk by in with our tails between our legs. No thank you. It goes without saying that ruined the start of our night and we will NEVER be returning.

Went in for lunch without a reservation and had a great experience. I wanted to try something new in Hoboken and this was a nice spot with outdoor seating. There were some unique drinks on the menu. Service was okay. Food was good quality and portions were great!

Stopped by Zacks with a group and we were seriously impressed! The vibe is perfect—cool bar up front and cozy, intimate seating in the back.
We kicked things off with the cauliflower and WOW… didn’t even feel like I was eating a veggie! So flavorful and addictive.
The real struggle? Choosing between all the pasta dishes—they all sounded amazing. I ended up with the gnocchi and have zero regrets. Light, pillowy, and full of flavor—absolute perfection!
Service was quick, food came out fast, and everyone left happy. Will definitely be back!

Went with a group for brunch, reasonably priced for how delicious the food is and how nice the seating is.
I would recommend making a reservation, since I didn’t and had to wait around 30 minutes.
With the Brunch menu, the steak and eggs was very good and the large portion was quite filling. However, the Mac and Cheese cheese was AMAZING and I could safely say it was one of the Mac and cheese dishes I’ve ever had.

Ordered the crispy pork belly bao buns, truffle oil fries, the salmon with spinach and potatoes, and New York strip steak. Good food quality, restaurant noise level is high but is to be expected, service is good even when crowded on a weekend evening, and staff was great and polite.

We picked it out to come for brunch. The list of options is long so you have a lot of dishes to choose from. The food was good but we did not love it. That said, it is hard to find good Huevos Rancheros and the ones here were ok. The home fries were not good, and the muffin of the day (banana and pecan) was a bit disappointing.
