The tea experience was very nice. I take note of the details and it was lovely. The silverware was elegant as was the tea ware, cup and saucer matching. The food was all from scratch and delicious. The pumpkin woopie pies were amazing!! They have a great selection of tea. The place was very clean and staff was friendly. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was not a private eating experience. The patrons next to us were very close and loud and all we heard was their conversation. Classical music softly playing would have set a nice mood. Otherwise a lovely time. We got the high tea lunch.

We had a fantastic Valentine’s Day tea for two. highly recommended! We let them know in advance that we had a gluten-free vegetarian coming. They accomminated both of us. 🙂 We can’t wait to return!

Thoughtfully designed and decorated to complement the entire experience of enjoying a personal pot of tea, sharing delicious savory and sweet items in an atmosphere of soft music and conversation. You’ll even love the complimentary bathroom decor!
You are greeted with a smile, provided ample time to choose your pot of tea. Our table of four chose the Classic Afternoon Tea at $40 per person (tax and tip included) and all chose a different tea. I chose Huckleberry Happiness – a great choice. As we went on March 17, our dessert tier had a substitute item for St Patrick’s Day. If you are wondering whether finger food can fill you up… Yes, it can. Each portion for each tier and your own pot of tea plus ice water is satisfying and filling. An absolute great price for the Classic Afternoon Tea. Reservations are highly recommended.
We were delighted when both Rebecca Bradley and Melissa Roop stopped by our table – both were enthusiastic when discussing their path to opening their tea room, and, for future tea additions and surprise changes to their menus.
Crown & Thistle Tea Room is a great addition to Waynesville.

My mom and I went for the afternoon tea with full three tier service. It was a great experience and everything was delicious! Best teas I’ve ever had! They have so many events planned and I hope to attend as many as possible. The owners are fabulous and I love how they support businesses owned by women. My mom and I highly recommend this business!!

My friend and I have weekly tea at her home so when she heard about this lovely tea room in Waynesville, she invited my husband & I to tea there. What a wonderful experience, there were so many delicious sounding tea choices and all that we sampled were excellent, nuanced and hearty, even herbals. And the food selections are varied and interesting, several savory options as well as traditional scones and sweets. Besides being delicious we left very full even though it seemed like a light lunch. The chicken wild rice soup was spectacular and their chicken salad was excellent too.
There’s a lot to look at in the room with its lovely tea sets displayed and cozy wallpaper and soft lighting. The owner did come over to our table and talked about how she supports women’s businesses by sourcing tea from all over the country.
It was nice hearing the story of how the tea room came to be and we could clearly see her passion.
It’s a wonderful spot for lunch or just a cup of afternoon tea. We’re going to make it a regular stop.

This tea room was so cute! We got the Classic Afternoon Tea package, and it was very good. Each person got a pot of tea, and it was so good that we bought a 3rd pot to share! We tried the Creme Brulee Earl Gray, Butterfly Pea, and one other that I cannot remember the name of, but they were all great! The food was great, and the scones were my favorite part. Staff was super friendly and checked in often. Highly recommend! We will be back!

Such a lovely experience, I will absolutely be going back regularly. The tea was delicious and such a huge variety, including quite a few caffeine free options. Loved every bite of food but a few standouts were the cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwich, scones with lemon curd, madeleines, and the new cherry cookie. Highly recommend the full tea service but anything here is likely to be amazing. Plus the decor is absolutely adorable and all the employees are so kind and friendly!

Just 30 minutes away from Asheville. Afternoon tea (reservation only) was splendid and atmosphere was charming. Recommend for lunch date or brunch with friends.

Crowne & Thistle was the perfect spot for a date with my husband. The food was incredible, the teas were delicious (we wanted to try them all!), and the service was simply wonderful. The whole experience felt cozy and intentional, a sweet way to slow down and enjoy time together. We left happy and already planning our next visit.

TLDR: It’s incredible, please give them your business and money so they survive in Waynesville.
This tea house is absolutely incredible! I took my mother here as this is the first place I’ve seen offer high tea since Chelsea’s in Biltmore Village closed, and Crown and Thistle is miles more memorable! The service was delightful and friendly, the teas (I had April’s special Brunch in Paris, and my mother had Boulder Breakfast, I believe) were delicious blends that had wonderful flavor while still being delicate and smooth – I was very pleased to be able to buy a bag to go home with me – and the food was AMAZING. I can’t describe how well the flavors blended, how delicious everything on the April High Tea menu was, and how impressed I was with the inspired flavors and how well the chef must know flavor profiles. I can’t pick a favorite, but one that stands out is the lemon bar with herbs. The herb blend she chose perfectly complemented the sweet tartness of the lemon bar. All in all a wonderful experience, and I booked next month’s reservation before leaving the parking lot.
I did use AI to remove my mother from the picture but otherwise this is an accurate representation of the High Tea service.
