Great hidden gem. Keegan, our server, was excellent and very helpful as we looked over the menu. We split a whole chicken and enjoyed plantains, fried rice and french fries as our sides. Our server brought us out two different sauces to try with our meal, both of which were delicious. We will absolutely be back.

It’s official, we have a new favorite place to eat in Somerset. We decided to try Tasty Peru today and were wowed at every dish we were served. The rotisserie chicken, marinated for 48 hours, was packed with flavor. The sauces were delicious. The house-made salad dressing was incredible. The tres leches (Three Milks) cake was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful and we were treated like friends from the moment we walked in. Can’t wait to eat here again.

Felt treated like a VIP every time we went there. This place is classy, elegant and you will leave both, gastronomically and spiritually satisfied by the cozy, welcoming warmth of the Tasty Peru. It’s a little hidden gem in the midst of an almost deserted plaza filled with other businesses. You can say, that Somerset is not big enough population wise, for the popularity growth of this amazing restaurant and giving it a bigger recognition and appreciation it deserves! It offers an exotic, rare experience of tasting the ethnic specialties of Peru which you won’t find at any other regular Mexican or other country’s restaurant. Jefferson, the owner, a young, charismatic fellow will greet you personally upon entering and if not too busy, he will personally entertain you and serve you like a royalty. You know, you are there to be treated as if you were in a 5 star hotel. Shortly after, you will feel like you’ve known Jefferson for years, because he treats you like a friend…a family. The sauces come in beautiful ceramic espresso cups, the water- a nice bottle of mineral water, not your typical “chlorine/ bleach” wash, most restaurants serve you covering the smell with a lemon slice. You are served with nice, clean table linen and not just paper napkins as many do. In my humble opinion, this restaurant, is one that Gordon Ramsay would both, approve of without hesitation and be proud to refer as an example of well run food serving operation.
P.S. One of the most exotic, delicious items I tried for the first time, was the sliced, grilled beef heart on skewer. The rotisserie chicken is out of this world too. Everything at this place is cared for meticulously, while perfect in every way! I am thrilled to share this discovery with you all. Enjoy.

Best food in town without a doubt. Eaten there multiple times, trying different items on the menu, and absolutely never a bad experience or bad food. Service is very good, Jefferson has always been there and taken care of us everytime. Food is well seasoned and always cooked to order. I absolutely love going out to eat here.

Went there last night and the food was wonderful, they had a new server and she still did great. The owner came to our table to see how we were doing and how we liked our food.
