The restaurant is in a pretty secluded spot that is off the main road and down the hill to the river’s edge. The restaurant is obviously right on the river. The views are lovely. The whole area down the hill feels just like a small town. There’s a couple houses and what looked like long-term campers and spots. It reminded me of what it feels like to go camping and just slow down away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The staff at the restaurant were super friendly and kind. The food was actually really yummy! We ordered the breaded mushrooms appetizer. I asked for the garlic parmesan sauce with it and the sauce was delicious! I had the dock burger and my husband had the fried bologna sandwich. The burger was really good. My husband also liked his sandwich. When the menu said “thick-sliced bologna,” they meant it! It was impressive and tasted great.
We listened to the live music on the patio and enjoyed our meal while the sun was setting on the river. We walked along the street by the river while still being able to hear the music. Before we left, we grabbed some ice cream too!
All in all, this restaurant was a great surprise and wonderful setting for a date away from our day-to-day responsibilties! Highly recommend!!!
Food has been amazing. Pizza is some of the best we have eaten. The wings are now my favorite. Crispy and flavorful.
This restaurant/bar is in “Old” Leavenworth. I was very glad we were in a truck, not an RV, because the road to get there was steep, winding, without guardrails and poorly banked. Once “down there” the area is like a big campground. Parking is TIGHT. No actual parking lot. You park in the grass, and hope you can get out of the roadway. The roads are narrow (one-lane) with no one-way signs, so oncoming traffic can be an issue.
The food was delicious, the servers were sweet. The indoor dining area was poorly air conditioned- it was barely cooler than outside. The outside dining area was unshaded except for a few table umbrellas that didn’t even cover the tables. People were smoking all through the outdoor dining area. We took our food back to our truck to eat.
The view of the Ohio River was gorgeous. The ice cream was good, but not too many flavors offered.
In the end, it was an amusing adventure, but probably not one we would repeat.
