This was our first time eating here. The food was great. All our sushi and appetizers tasted really good. The service could use a little improvement. I feel bad for the staff because there was only one person working the front, and one chef making everything. They were obviously spread very thin, hopefully next time we go they will have some help to make things run a little more smoothly. They did prepare quite a few to go orders, so that might be the way to go. Be aware, there is a kids “play” area but it’s located in the main dining area near the tables. So if loud kids playing in a restaurant aren’t your jam, just know it’s a possibility.

Wanted to try a new sushi place in Auburn and found this place on google with good reviews. We were there at 2:30pm so place wasn’t packed. Greeted and seated quickly. Quick turnaround on ordering and getting our food. Was shocked at how big their sushi rolls were and thank goodness we only ordered the one. The lunch meal deal came with plenty of food to fill ya too. Food was yummy for our tummy, found a new favorite spot.

Had carryout a few times, never disappointed. First time dining in absolute joy. Service prompt and with a smile. Food came out at a nice pace.
Spicy Scallop Handroll was everything I wanted it to be. Easy to eat, packed with flavor, filling didn’t fall out. Highly recommend.
Hokkaido roll. An absolute banger. My new favorite roll of all time. Loaded with flavor, heat heightens the senses without overwhelming the palatte. Will order every time.
Check this place out.

Hidden gem in a kinda dumpy strip center. Excellent quality fish & veggies, creative rolls and very generous portions.

This is such a hidden gem! Everything we had was so beautiful made and plated. I highly recommend the spicy octopus salad, the melting albacore was perfect, and the nigiri was some of the best I’ve ever tried. You can tell them at the hef has great attention to detail and cares about what he puts out.

Food is priced about a $1 less than typical sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. We got the Salmon Bento and the Salmon was overcooked and a little hard to eat (rubbery with too many grill marks).
The nigiri was good, the fish was a thinner cut, but pretty good. Their rice itself was good as well.
Servers were very good, constantly checked up and made sure it was all going good.
The fried rolls were good, but got tiring after about half due to the type of breading.
Overall 4/5, I’d go again, it’s good for Auburn. I didn’t expect Auburn to have good .

This has become my favorite sushi source. Why? Because they put a lot of filling in their sushi (see photo), i.e., more filling and less rice, instead of more rice than filling from other sushi places in the district; and because their prices aren’t jacked up. I travel 19 miles one-way for this sushi, or whenever I’m in Auburn.

My parents bought some Maru Sushi the other day and it was my first time having it. I was really impressed by how good it all tasted from the Salmon, to the sushi rolls, and Gyoza). They have a special lunch box value at $8.50. i always go with the Salmon Teriyaki. I will be coming by to this place whenever I feel like getting something Japanese cuisine. Definitely recommend visiting and eating

I had the Take Maru Sushi Roll and it was amazing! So fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality in every bite. ✨
Customer service was also top-notch—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If you’re in Auburn and craving sushi, Take Maru Sushi is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!

By far the best sushi in Northern California. I don’t even like sushi, or at least I didn’t think I did.
