Good chicken! It’s different from a lot of the other chicken in the area, so don’t go in expecting pan fried pepper chicken. The wings are really good, the fries are excellent, the beer is cold, and the service is excellent. The menu depends on the day, so look ahead before you go.

Made the trip down for fried chicken. Chicken was delicious. Everything else was disappointing. Service was disappointing. Couldn’t get refills on drinks. This was not a very handicap friendly facility. My child with his walker was unable to walk inside and down stairs. Strange menu options. We don’t plan on returning.

Enochsburg (The Fireside Inn) will always be my favorite place for chicken. I have enjoyed this restaurant since I was a little girl.(1970’s) Nostalgic feeling every time I visit. Excellent service and always excellent chicken.

Have come my entire life but the last three times I have come the average wait time for food AFTER ordering is always around 80 minutes. I tried to give them a break but literally every time now it’s beyond insane slow. This last time we had reservations and came at 5 and got seated right away and ordered hoping it would help the food wait and still had 70 minutes. Good prices on domestic drafts but one of these times mentioned I had to wait until our food arrived for them to ever bring it which as previously stated takes so very long. The slowest of any restaurant I have been to and this didn’t used to be the case here despite it obviously needing some time to cook the chicken. Very disappointed that not sure can keep coming back when has been a favorite spot for my entire life.

Fried chicken was awesome and we also had the fried catfish. Both were great but I preferred the chicken. We had so much food leftover that lunch will be good tomorrow. Our server was amazing and very attentive. Definitely will return.

Heard from the grapevine this was the place to go, and boy, was I not disappointed!
I sat down and enjoyed a drink after ordering takeout, the friendly woman serving was more than hospitable and made me feel right at home despite me being out of town for work and being out of my element.
The food was great, hot, and even lasted the trip back to our place of lodging still piping hot.
The chicken, by all means, is what most people would consider the holy grail of “Great Southern Granny” fried chicken, yet somehow avoided being greasy.
Crispy, juicy, well seasoned, and tender as can be. Given the chance I will definitely be back.

Great fried chicken Crunchy and we’ll seasoned. Super friendly service. Great place for a family dinner. It’s clean, but is a little of a dive… probably because of its age and hasn’t been updated. The rest of the food is severely under seasoned, including the onion rings, which were otherwise crunchy and not greasy. Probably one of the better, if not only, choices to go if you’re at Lake Santee.

Wife and I came here with some friends. Our first time but not theirs. When you first walk in you sign in and wait to be seated. We ordered a variety of things from the menu which was simple and not crammed full which made deciding easy. The shrimp and breaded tenderloin where huge, fried pickles and corn nuggets where crisp, the chicken was juicy and the sweet tea was like it was from the south. The whole experience was pleasant including the scenery to and from in this small town and the prices were reasonable.

Chicken is awesome. Place is way too small for that type of business crowding. The small size of the physical business, with too many people, makes service a struggle. It’s almost always a 45 minute to 1.5 hour wait.

Family atmosphere, delicious mashed potatoes and gravy and crunchy chicken. I didn’t care for the green beans, they were sweet. Make reservations, this place is busy!! Check out online menu. Some items only available on certain days.
