Familiar Japanese fare is showcased in this bright, family-friendly restaurant with a sushi bar.

Hands down the best sushi bar in Contra Costa. Freshest seafood, excellent service and overall tasty creations. We’ve come here for years.

Small quiet sushi joint, perfect for a date night. Went at 8 and sat at the sushi bar. Server was very nice and friendly. Had really good cold sake(had a little ice chamber to keep it cold) miso soup and tofu to start. The sushi rolls were made quick, and they were amazing! Reasonably priced too. We both really enjoyed our dinner date. Will be back

Blue Ginko has great sushi, sashimi, tempura, and awesome rolls, including classics like the original eel Rock and Roll. I personally dislike the American-style sushi where everything is deep fried or spicy….give me the classics where the quality and flavor of the fish speaks for itself. If you are dining with raw fish-a-phobes, there are plenty of cooked items on their dinner menu….probably delicious, but I never bother given the sushi quality.

Consistently fantastic food, atmosphere, and staff, whether you choose to eat in-person or pickup your meal.
My family has been going here for 5+ years and it’s part of the regular rotation. The appetizers, meals, and sushi selections are all delicious. No idea why previous commenters would complain about a fish smell in a fish-based cuisine establishment…

I have always had good sushi here. Fresh and decent portions. Expensive. The spider roll is solid, no imitation crab or filler. I love Ebisu in the inner sunset and for the far east bay, this is the closest to it that I have found.

I can’t enjoy a restaurant that treats its employees like animals, I don’t tolerate the lack of empathy, the employees of each business is the main source for each business to move forward, it is not the first time I see an act of discrimination or disrespect on the part of the new owner for his workers. Since he changed the owner of this restaurant, it has been a total failure, I always go with the hopes that this time it will be better. But I choose not to come back.

Fiancé and I came here on a whim. It’s a really cute little place and the employees were so friendly and sweet. Unfortunately it smelled extremely fishy upon entry– and not in a good way. Fiancé got the seafood ramen and said it tasted very off, like bad sea water, and also a bit like ammonia, which is a sign of bad fish (tends to naturally take on this taste when it has expired). He ended up having food poisoning all night into the next day.
We really wanted to love this place, but perhaps there needs to be a new system for the incoming seafood ingredients. Probably need to make some freshness adjustments if customers are getting sick.
Though we love supporting local businesses, this was a red flag for contaminants, although the grilled rice balls were delicious. We will be steering clear for now. Maybe it was just a bad day for fish.

Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but as this is the second time I’ve had this experience, I am leaving this review. My family and I made a take-out order and were instructed to wait for twenty minutes. We returned after that time, payed, and continued to wait… For half an hour. At this point there was still no sign of the food (or a that there had been any progress to fulfilling our order), so we asked for a refund and left. Again, if this were a one time occurrence, I’d give them benefit of the doubt, but it appears there is a problem in their order handling. I hope they solve this because the food they serve is superb.

Everything good to excellent and very nice wait staff. As a first time visitor I would have liked photos or more detailed descriptions on the menu but my companion made some really good choices.

Good food, especially the Diablo Roll! Friendly customer service. Major disappointment was that all the takeout was packaged in plastic. It’s 2021 – can’t pretend we don’t know that so many better packaging options are available
