How is this restaurant still in business?! First, I was meeting friends who wanted to do a wine pairing at the restaurant, I myself do not drink, but just wanted to be with them for the company. All I basked for was a glass of water. Then they brought me the food pairing, which I didn’t even want. This plate with hardly edible and very hard to cut or chew food items! When the bill came, since I did not drink, I expected just to pay for the horrid food, maybe half the price, they slapped the full $ 62!!! For a glass of filtered well water, best thing on the menu and the micro hard food! Outrageous!! Who do they think they are?!!! My friends want to stay and have dinner, I did not, but I did want to spend time with them. So I ordered the salmon, it was the driest piece of fish I have ever had, with a piece of pecan nut under it and non reconstituted cherries on a bed of lettuce with butter and balsamic drizzle. I can see why people complain about this place and never come back. The owner / hostess was very rude. They seem not to be human friendly. I surely will never waist my money here again! And since you charged $62 for water, I surely didn’t leave a tip!!!!!!

Last night, our party of six had the pleasure of dining at Girasole, an Italian restaurant located in the charming town of The Plains, Virginia. We were celebrating my mother-in-law’s retirement, and Girasole proved to be the perfect spot for our special occasion.
The service was absolutely outstanding, deserving a full five stars. Our waitress, Gabriele, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for. She truly contributed to making our celebration memorable.
We indulged in a variety of beverages, including mixed drinks, wine, and beer, all of which were excellent. The appetizers were amazing, setting the stage for an equally impressive main course. Each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented.
One of the highlights of the evening was that Girasole allowed us to bring in a custom cake. They graciously cut and served it as if it were their own, even adding a delightful touch of powdered sugar sprinkle, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated detail.
The restaurant itself has a super quaint and charming atmosphere, perfectly fitting for an Italian eatery. The chic bathroom added to the overall pleasant experience.
Overall, our experience at Girasole was exceptional. From the delicious food to the outstanding service, especially from Gabriele, everything contributed to a memorable celebration. I highly recommend Girasole to anyone looking for a delightful Italian dining experience in The Plains, Virginia.

Very nice Italian restaurant. The outdoor seating area is great. Really nice setup and layout. Food was good and flavors were well balanced. My only complaint is the portion size on the bolognese, it was really small and not indicative of the price of the meal, especially when compared to the portion size of the short rib meal my wife got.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious! Our server Gabriella had the perfect wine recommendation for what we were looking for. We sat outside on the patio and the atmosphere was really nice, but the inside is also very welcoming and homey for dining in. We would recommend the burrata for an app, our entrees were perfect, my spinach and ricotta pasta was delicious, and we each got a dessert (they all sounded amazing). Chocolate cake and blackberry chocolate chip ice cream were our dessert favorites! There is clearly so much effort and love put into every dish and this family run restaurant is definitely one of our favorites! We can’t wait to visit again!

I ate here a few weeks ago and I was extremely impressed. From outside it doesn’t look so nice. It looks very old and add a date from outside. The inside is a nice atmosphere. The lasagna is the best I’ve had in my entire life exclamation mark I cannot wait to go back! The customer service was fantastic!

Great stop on our road trip to wineries. Bread is so good. Had the branzino which was delish. Our waiter was excellent on 11/20. Had great gf chocolate pound cake with cinnamon gelato. Sat by the heat register so it was perfect spot.

Truly a hidden gem in the small town of the Plains! We came here for my husband’s 42nd birthday. The menu items had many selections including a few specials and the food was perfect fist sized portions. The pasta is all made in house which is rare indeed.
My kids loved the calamari app! I ordered the the Beef Tartare for appetizer which was good but need a sprinkle of salt to bring out the truffle better. I also ordered the goose ragu which was served in a mint farfelle which was visually very pretty and was well seasoned and had so much flavor!
One of my 8 yo son enjoyed the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and my other 6yo son enjoyed the lasagna bolagnese and he gulped that up so quickly. My husband loved his Skate fish dish ( it was perfectly crispy on the edges and flaky tender inside).
My dessert was the lemon tart and presentation and flaky and sweetness of the tart were perfect and delicious! My kids ordered the gelato but it melted too fast on the plate it should have been served in a bowl so they could drink the meltings..haha
Overall a wonderful dining experience and good customer service and we will be back very soon! Thank you!

I had the lasagna. Wow is all I can say. I keep thinking about it and want to go back just for that. The atmosphere is relaxed but upscale at the same time. Our server was amazing. I highly recommend coming here if you have never been.
I have been here a few times over the last 2 years and it has always been top notch. The food is fantastic and the service is really great.
