PROUDLY SERVING FRESH DETROIT-STYLE PIZZA WITH EASTERN MARKET BREWING CO. BEER Elephant & Co. is brought to you by the people who started Eastern Market Brewing Co., and our Detroit-style pizza stands out for the same reasons our craft beer does. We are fermentation specialists. We’ve applied our years of knowledge to perfecting our craft beer and put it into our pizza dough. Most of our taproom is first come, first served—about 90% of the seats, so grab a spot and settle in! But hey, we get it—sometimes you gotta lock things down ahead of time. We’ve got a few reservation slots available on most days to help those planners among us. Any questions? Hit us up: [email protected]

We tried the Margherita and the Chick on the Barbie pizzas both an easy 10/10. The Goat Berry Crunch Salad made for a fresh, flavorful starter, and our daughter devoured her grilled cheese.
Service was also excellent. Danielle greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave a clear rundown of how everything works from ordering food to grabbing drinks. Her attentiveness set the tone for a great experience.
The overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming, making it perfect for families, date nights, or groups of any size. Highly recommend giving it a try!
Beer is an okay price, but the tech required to let you tap your wrist on a logo and then get charged per-oz isn’t free, so I get it. It’s a cool vibe inside and out. If you’ve been to Ferndale Project you’ll immediately recognize the inside vibes and the patio immediately feels like Founders Brewing in GR, which makes sense since this used to be the Founders Detroit space.
I love it here and will absolutely return!
You’ll first have to open a tab for ten dollars, scan your ID, get a wristband, and endure a demo of how wristbands work. Then you may visit the wall of beers.
Ordering food from a qr code on the table will bring a very respectable pizza to your table.
Be prepared to verify your card number via text before ordering.
Wait times were average, and the few employees I dealt with were pleasant enough. With one exception, the guy who pounces on you the second you walk up to the beer wall.
He was a bit intense.
Possibly a manager or owner even?
Just chill a bit, Matt.
Some folks want to look over their options.
I drank my fill of many of their brews and shared the Scapegoat and Pesto pizza with my family. We ended up staying for a while and getting snack ish so we got the Garlic Parm Fries to snack on.
I’d love to come back to experience one of their pizza and beer pairing classes
First of all the pizza is delicious! The crust is perfect and the sauce has an amazing acidity to it that goes perfectly with the Wisconsin cheese.
The beer tap system is fun. Its interesting to be able to sample so many different types of beer without feeling like you’re over doing it. I tried small samples of several beers and then got more of the ones I liked most.
Atmosphere is great too. Friendly staff. Nice environment with both indoor amd outdoor seating. There is an outdoor courtyard that is great for a nice Summer day.
Overall I would say the pizza is great and fairly priced. The beer taps were fun and I like the concept, but they are kind of expensive. You may end up spending way more on the drinks than you do your food. Just be prepared. The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a small tap room in the back that I assume you may be able to rent out for private parties?
So if you’re in Midtown this place should definitely be on your list of places to visit.
