My friend chose the lumache, which unfortunately was extremely spicy—so much so that she could only take one bite. There was no indication on the menu, nor any mention from our server, that the dish was this level of spicy. I tasted it as well and found it difficult to eat, which was disappointing as it meant my friend was unable to enjoy her meal at all.
We politely explained this to our waitress and asked to have the full dish boxed, hoping my friend’s husband might be able to eat it at home. The response we received from the waitress —“Well, I’m glad your husband will get to eat it at least”—felt dismissive and lacking the level of care one would expect at such a nice restaurant. Unfortunately, that interaction greatly impacted our overall experience and willingness to return.
The espresso martini and lemon drop martini were good, though not exceptional… $19 each. We split the check and still left a 20% tip per person. In the end, the total came to about $105 each, which was disappointing given that one of us was unable to enjoy a meal.
What we ordered:
Crispy Artichoke: Delicious
Chicken Cutlet: Fancy fried chicken and sooo good
Tonnarelli: Flavorful
Everyone there is always in such a great mood. You can tell the owners/chef have a very close and great relationship with the staff.
The food is absolutely amazing.
I personally LOVE the sort of al la carte tasting menu if you will. I love exploring and finding new dishes that I’ve never tried before. I love that I have the opportunity to challenge my taste buds and Chef Alvarez does exactly just that.
The service here is 5 star through and through.
Thank you very much Ash.
We had the boquerones (anchovies), rabbit, beef cheek pasta, and shrimp scampi (more of a bbq shrimp style). The service was great as well.
Complaint: one tissue thin napkin. We asked for additional and we were handed two tissue thin napkins. Also, no utensils provided to eat with. Had to get up from the counter and get our own. The female calling out the order names was sooooooo loud. Please, tone it down it down a bit on Sunday morning.
Very nice crowd though. Nice group of customers patronizing.
I would return, just not in a rush.
The food was fantastic from start to finish. We kicked things off with the Oysters (literally listed as “Oysters” on the menu) and wow… 10/10. If you’ve never been an oyster person, you will be after this. They were fresh, briny, and perfectly dressed – an instant favorite.
Then came the fried rabbit, and let me tell you — unbelievable. I would go back for that dish alone. The way they took a protein like rabbit and turned it into something so flavorful, so crispy, and so memorable blew my mind. Add the hot honey and it became next-level. This is a dish I recommend 100% without hesitation.
From there, we moved on to the pork and pasta, and again, absolutely incredible. The pork was tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with the feta, and the pasta was rich and comforting without being heavy. Every bite felt like it was crafted with intention.
Ash is one of those rare spots where everything hits. From the drinks to the food to the service (shoutout to Taylor, who crushed it all night), it’s a full experience, not just dinner. Tampa needed this, and I’m already counting down the days until I can go back. The staff was absolutely amazing. I can’t give enough stars. Amazing.
When we walked in 2-3 tables was seated,
I’m sorry, it shouldn’t take for appetizers to come out in 30-35 minutes .
It was ok, nothing much is standing out,
But rabbit and Hamachi were really good.
