This was delicious! Alyson took our order and she was FABULOUS! She was so nice! I haven’t been here in like 2 years and I was SO excited to find out how many gluten free flavors of bagel there are now! I got an everything to try and I am amazed! I wish I lived closer! But I know where I’m stopping for breakfast every time I’m in town! The bagel sandwich is HUGE and even more importantly delicious!!!!

This place is junk and over priced, i ordered a bacon egg and cheese there’s hardly any egg or cheese on the bagel and I ordered a pumpkin bagel with butter and cream cheese and they just put a glob of butter and barely any cream cheese, Bodo’s bagels in Charlottesville is a million times better and cheaper, i will not be returning to Mr J’s Bagels it’s not open heart surgery it’s just making a sandwich, it’s not hard to make a sandwich, if i can leave 0 stars i would! get it together whoever sees this i saved you a trip and money

My reviews are generally good for places, but we did not have a good experience here. We got two sandwiches and a dozen bagels. The girl working did not tell us where our food would come out or to look at the screen to see if it was almost ready. We had no idea where it was coming out or when. She also was packing all our bagels together and I asked her (because I have ordered bagels at places before) if the savory ones would overpower the sweet ones in the bag. She said yes and then put the savory in a different bag. Why would she not just do it right the first time if she knew they would ruin the taste?
After we left, my husband told me the floor was really dirty behind the counter (I am a shorty so I could not see that). Maybe they were just slammed all morning, so that they did not have time to clean it. I am hoping that is the case.
The food itself that we had was good. I hope that the bagels we got are good and the taste was not ruined by being in the same bag with the sweet and savory.

I stopped by after some recommendation from some JMU alums on a mid Saturday morning. It was a couple people waiting for their food. Inside is nice decorated with a homage to JMU. My wife and I ordered a large coffee, a steak, egg and pepper Jack cheese on a garlic bagel, and a sausage, egg and cheese on an onion bagel.
Service was friendly, but it took a pretty long time to get our food; 20 mins from when we order to when they called our name. I understand if it was a morning rush, but that seems pretty slow for just a sandwich when that’s one of the few things you mainly serve.
The bagel sandwiches were pretty thin, like they use one egg and a bit of meat. My steak sandwich had steak on only a part of the sandwich. The bagel was okay and the only memorable part for me is how small it was. Even my wife who is not a big eater agrees that the sandwich was small and flat. I truly believe I had a much better steak and egg bagel breakfast sandwich from McDonald’s.

Yall have some great food and great bagels. But man, every single time we order from yall. Whether its in store or doordash. The order is messed up. A “regular” iced coffee means black. Not just cream. When you give us our order, we expect the full order. Not half of it and then have to deal with doordash. Yall have sent me an empty coffee cup when I ordered a coffee.

Stopped here before for bagels which are very good, but this trip we stopped for actual breakfast, ordered biscuits and gravy and it came out cold, like from the fridge. I returned it expecting something fresh and instead got microwaved food. Would not recommend anything other than bagels.

We came in from out of town for an archery tournament. We got recommended Mr. J’s bagels by some locals and it did not disappoint. They have a wide array of options. From multiple different types of bengals to sandwiches to sweet treats. I got the bacon and egg on a plan bagel. Normally when I get this somewhere else it never has enough bacon. But this sandwich had more than enough and was cooked to perfection. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quick, great, and easy breakfast.

They have a hard time getting the orders right. Bagel toasted both sides, not toasted at all, or add spinach and they don’t, or request swiss and they put on cheddar. Fortunately the food is great.

This is a local cafe that makes fresh bagels daily. The bagels were fresh, just make sure you specify how much cream cheese you want. They could have been a little more toasted as well. The 2 eggs and home fries were a little but of a let down. We dined in and they were slammed to one side. the egg was fried when I ordered sunny up and it was a little greasy. The wait time wasnt but 10 minutes for our food. It’s not a bad spot, definitely would rather support local than a chain.

I ordered a loaded lox bagel. On one side (meaning left and right, not top and bottom) was a pile of half a jar of capers. on the other side was a couple of tiny pieces of onion and then a giant piece of the top layer of red onion with the skin and a pice of the end on. lox was average. the bagel itself was quite good. but the quality was less than zero and the sandwich was basically inedible. I would of taken it back and kindly asked for a refund, but I was of course 30 mins North on 81 by the time I tried to eat it. Overall, extremely bad.
