Had a really great meal here! Everything we ordered was delicious and freshly made. The soup dumpling was juicy and flavorful, and the pan-fried buns were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. The shrimp dumplings were also very fresh and tasty.

Came for dinner during the soft opening and they exceeded all expectations! Staff was very friendly. Process to order and pay was very smooth. Place has a nice vibe and ambiance. We ordered the chicken corn dumplings, shrimp cucumber dumplings, beef pot stickers, chicken pot stickers, dandan noodles, and a cumin lamb burger. Everything was so delicious and fresh with amazing flavor. Nothing was a miss. We were even given complimentary appetizers and soup. So happy with our experience and will definitely be coming back often!

This becomes my favorite soup dumplings and crab noodle restaurant after I tried it. The service was great and even they are busy. Open kitchen and you can see the cook making the dumplings and the restaurant is pretty clean. Love crab meat soup dumpling , the wagyu buns, and the crab meat noodle! Totally recommend these dishes and the restaurant. Make sure to get in early or make reservations.

This is my second time here. I loved everything I ordered the first time, especially the shrimp and cucumber soup dumplings, the steamed vegetable and mushroom dumplings, and the Kurobuta pork and green onion buns. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures the first time.

The hot and sour soup was not bad, but the sesame bao wasn’t my type. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Bao Master delivers across the board. The pan-fried pork buns were crisp and juicy, the scallion pancake flaky and fragrant, and the scallion oil noodles simple but deeply flavorful. Even the veggie buns and brown sugar rice cakes were done right. Fresh, comforting, and consistently satisfying. ☺️

It would be amazing seeing a restaurant with this poor food quality to survive in one of the most competitive asian food cities in SoCal. There’s a Aunty’s Qiu restaurant just few hundred feet away, offering pretty much identical menu with avg 15% lower price, and the taste is much better. Bao’s potsticker has design issue. The two side of the flour skin left open so the tiny meat inside is so dry, that is quite special negative design. And the onion oil noodle is tasteless, needless to say the funny fishy taste of the gigantic soup dumpling.

I wish they can really review what’s going on with their food quality, or their soft opening might end up hard closing in Alhambra, the famous foodie city.

The reason I gave 2 star instead of one is that I feel their waiter is hard working so I don’t want to just give 1. Even though come to think off it I probably should for their bad stuff management…

Also, their scissors came with used, I have no words

Great atmosphere good – Kurobuta Pork Dumplings (8 pcs) $12.98 & Crispy Beef Roll $11.98. We didn’t particularly like the brand of vinegar. Also do feel there is a limit of choices of soups and other items.

First time trying this new Chinese dumpling place called Bao Master in Alhambra. They just opened it about 2 months ago.
It’s located on Monterey Street (right across the Sprouts market plaza). You won’t miss their big business sign. There’s a free indoor public parking lot next to it. There’s a big, cute Bao Master character at the entrance. The interior is very modern and welcoming. Someone greeted us when we walked in and asked us how many people of our party, and we did not need to wait. Our server gave us a big bottle of water for our table, and a complimentary appetizer with seaweed salad, some onions with mini wood mushrooms, and fried peanuts. They were all delicious. We ordered our food through their QR code on the table, which links to their order page from my phone, or you can ask for a menu.
We ordered the following:
Braised Wheat Gluten in Sweet Soy Sauce ($10.98)
Pan-Fried Kurobuta Pork buns 5 pcs ($7.98)
Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings (XLB) 8 pcs ($12.98)
Rice Cake with Pork & Spinach ($14.98)

The Braised Wheat Gluten in sweet soy sauce was very addictive. My daughters and my mom also liked it. It was a bit salty, but it was also flavorful. (4 out of 5)

The pan-fried Kurobuta Pork buns had 5 pieces of this dish. The pork buns were smaller than I thought. Be careful that it was hot inside with juice. The skin was thick. (3 out of 5)

Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings (XLB) – it had 8 pieces of Xiao Long Bao. The skin was thin and smooth. It had a good portion of pork meat and soup inside. (4 out of 5)

Rice Cake with Pork & Spinach – We always like Shanghaiese pan-fried Rice Cake because we like the chewy texture. It was flavorful and delicious. Some people may think that it’s a bit oily, but we liked it.
(5 out of 5)

The service was attentive, and they gave us another bottle of water.
By the way, their to-go box is so cute, but you have to know how to fold it yourself. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and we all liked it.
We will try their other dishes next time.
