And we were right. It was perfect for the baby. We came in with 0 expectations, and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was too. It is great for the price! To top it of, the service was excellent. The servers and every employee were friendly and hospitable. We are definitely going back to this one again!
On to the food. Two of our kids ordered the chicken bites, and they were, quite honestly, the best thing I tried. Really good. I think they are thighs. Super tender.
I ordered the Salmon Glow Bowl. It would have been excellent if the salmon had been cooked properly. It probably hit 180 degrees on the probe at one point. I also had a fish taco. Solid.
My wife had the chicken tortilla soup. It was good, but had a bone in it 🙂 It happens.
My oldest got a kid portion taco as well as some off the regular menu. The kid taco is pretty skimpy. I’d avoid that. The other tacos our table ordered were good.
Overall, it’s between a 3 and 4 star based on the food, but the service and family-friendly nature brought it up. I’d go back and give them another shot at the food. Prices were also fair for this day and age.
Avoid trivia night if you want conversation. The trivia game on Tuesdays (we had gone on a tuesday not knowing) made it a bit difficult to have a conversation or even make our food order without shouting at times (even the server was a little irritated at times) but the food was quite good.
Sam, our server knew the menu, and served with the joyful disposition I would want to have servers represent me if it were my business. I asked for his favorite dish and ordered the same, the spiced salmon.
The Nachos with Short Rib meat was phenomenal. One of the best nacho plates I have had. I ate the spiced salmon large plate …. was outstanding. A mix of sweet and hot in the perfect proportion. The bed of perfectly cooked sweet potoatos with just a little snap. was quite impressed with how well they got these just right. I also ordered a taco thay tasted like a cheeseburger. was quite good.
I think the over all flavor overpowered the salmon. proportions were perfect, but just about 20% less of it would allow thw salmon to come through a bit more.
My wife and friend had the salmon bowl with rice. My other friend had a harvest bowl with chicken. FYI the chicken is shredded, not grilled. I think that made it feel more like chicken salad, and not chicken.
Had churros and coffee for desert. chocolate and caramel dipping. Was good. My wife had ice cream waffle. She asked for no chocolate sauce (its warmed up hersheys – not hot fudge) and caramel. All they had was whipped cream. no nuts or other toppings for the ice cream.
I would return to try some other plates.
The food is excellent. And separates out into tacos, salads and veggie options, apps, and some full plates. The beauty of the menu is in small plates and variety across very well prepared offerings.
The tacos are one per order and are various. Small, delectable bites. The lobster guacamole is rave worthy and a surprising value. The sheet pan tacos are top notch and selectable in several sizes. The street corn has marvelous smokey favor notes. I could go on…
House cocktails are well crafted and interesting. All the usual offerings are also abundant.
Lockheart’s for me is the perfect antidote to all the same old restaurants and sports enough variety that you can stay fresh and explore your way around the menu without trashing your wallet.
All in all, definitely worth the visit!
The food was phenomenal! The street corn was perfectly charred and seasoned, an explosion of flavors in every bite. The Baja fish taco was a standout, with its crispy exterior and tender, flavorful fish inside. Paired with the Pink Lady cocktail, which was both refreshing and delightfully fruity, it made for a perfect meal.
The vibe of Lockheart is relaxed and inviting, with a beautiful mix of gold and wooden decor that creates an earthy, warm atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a great spot for a family dinner, a fun ladies’ night out, or just a place to unwind and have a good time, Lockheart is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Food: hands down some of the best nachos that I have hard in a long time. They checked the box for everything that makes up a great nacho. Additionally the rest of the food was great too.
Service: fast, friendly, knew what they were doing. Always made sure we had what we needed and checked in. Professionals here!
Atmosphere: I loved the attention to detail on the ceiling. Someone put a lot of time and effort into thinking about the details in this place.
All in all, I loved it. This is a good place to get if you are looking for a place to eat near by. Look at my photos to get a sense of the space.
We got: lobster guac (just tasted like single serve grocery store guac with lobster on top. Chips were extremely salty)
Beef empanadas ( greasy, not good)
Tuna poke bowl ( nothing spectacular but not bad)
Ribeye : cooked well, seasoning was lacking, served over a bed of sweet potatoes, that were good and soft)
Over all, I would not give this place another chance.
There’s lots of parking in the lot behind the restaurant, with a convenient rear entrance. There is an elevator for handicapped diners using the entrance from the lot. There’s a kid’s menu, and vegetarian options. Gluten free diners would find choices, too.
Prices are moderate, the $100 meals mentioned by some reviews don’t seem possible. They take reservations on Open Table.
