Currently writing this from inside the restaurant. This is definitely top 10 chicken for me in Columbus.
I got a 6pc wings with Tennessee Mild sauce, a sandwich with their hot honey, the cinnamon roll cake and cornbread.
The chicken sandwich was sweet and definitely flavorful. As a comparison, you get like twice the chicken as the nearby Chick-fil-A and it’s way better quality and way better seasoned.
The wings were incredibly good. They were falling off the bone every time I’d pick one up. I’m not the greatest fan of traditional, bone-in wings usually but these were incredibly easy to eat. The Tennessee Mild sauce was absolutely excellent.
The cornbread was great. Sweet and kind of dense but far from dry. It had the perfect texture.
For dessert, the cinnamon roll cake was well worth the purchase. Very sweet and perfectly portioned.
TL;DR: Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Delicious food. Sides were even better than the chicken. The Nashville Hot is truly hot (coming from a Nashville native)! Only wish there was a bit more salt added to the chicken breading. Ordering ahead is recommended, as it takes a bit to get fresh fried chicken. Look forward to going back to try more!

My first impression of this place, it was pretty quiet and laid back. I ordered the chicken sandwich dinner with a side of Mac and cheese & collard greens. Customer service was decent, guy didn’t seem like he wanted to be here. As I was sitting waiting for my food I could smell the dirty mop water on the floor…yuck. But the food!?!? Was amazing!!! Collard greens were super filling! Tastes just like how they do down south. Mac and cheese was delicious Chicken sandwich was decent, I just didn’t care for the sweet pickles. I would come back but most likely would do a takeout order. Wouldn’t recommend sitting inside.

I got the 4 piece tenders with collard greens and cornbread. LET ME TELL YOU!!! The chicken was the perfect balance of crispy, juicy and flavorful!! The greens hit perfectly!! The cornbread was slightly sweet and dense, just perfect! Definitely recommend this place!

Wow was this good. Had Nashville hot and hot honey. The Nashville chicken wasn’t quite authentic, but it was still crispy and delicious. The hot honey was also delicious, but the skin was just a pinch soggy. The slaw was great and The cornbread with some of the best I’ve ever had, especially with some of that hot honey on it. I can’t wait to go back!

What I love about this place is the consistency of the food. The chicken Sammy is ALWAYS large, the Mac and cheese is ALWAYS seasoned and their lunch special is $10 and you get a side of your choosing. Support this local spot man because it’s worth the money. The service is great and always friendly as well as the atmosphere. Had a kinda homey, nerdy cbus vibe and tvs and alcohol for game day! I’m gonna keep coming back

The chicken tenders and both of my side dishes were pretty tasty, even when ordering to-go! The atmosphere is a little dark and the restrooms were in bad shape. The employees were neither friendly or mean. Overall, I would definitely come back, just probably wouldn’t ever be interested in dining in.

I have had The Crispy Coop many times before, but I have always forgotten to take a picture because I can’t wait to dig in. I’m SO glad I took one this time because this was quiet possibly the best chicken I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot. The skin was so dang crispy even after being delivered and the hot honey (which was my first time ordering) was absolutely phenomenal. Their slaw is outstanding, very reminiscent of broccoli salad, and the cornbread is always . 10/10 Absolutely killing it.

Spicy lovers, this is NOT the place for you. Their hottest, “Nashville Hot – 8 out of 10 scale” is barely a normal mild elsewhere and frankly is just a bit flavorless. The Ohio Hot Honey had flavor, but zero heat. Mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, & JoJo’s (3 per combo order) were mid. Although I do appreciate true mashed potatoes with lumps. Collard greens a little salty for me. The wait was a bit longer than expected, about 15-20 minutes for 2 combos.
Do get: banana puddin, and the Hot Honey was good, but hoping for a little more heat. Thankful for some good sweet brewed tea also. The chicken was moist and breaded well.

The food was flavorful but once I turned over this wing I lost my appetite. Someone had to have saw the feathers either cleaning, battering, and or cooking and plating and didn’t care to remove them or not serve that wing which is disappointing when it’s $15.00 a plate and you can’t eat everything you were served.
