It’s a ghost kitchen. The lady who was at the counter was pretty amazing, agreat hustler!
I guess they were once a restaurant because the pictures are great. This is what a build your vermicelli bowl looks like. I got extra sauce and it’s like a small squirt into a little container. Parts of the vermicelli were crispy….which is not great. The eggrolls tasted good though, so they get a star for that. If I were to do it again, I’d just order a bunch of eggrolls and a bunch of extra sauce. Skip the $15 worth of lettuce and vermicelli. Pretty disappointed and would have gone elsewhere but had no more time to look and ended up eating at panda Express at the airport which surprisingly was much better. One star for the lady up front and one star for the eggrolls. Oh and they forgot my coffee so check your order carefully!

I ordered two Impossible vermicelli bowls via Doordash and they showed up without vermicelli! I tried to call, and despite being open for another half hour, no one answered the phone. This is a terrible experience. I had been a fan, but this is an over-priced salad with three tiny pieces of Impossible pork.

Horrible experience… Placed my order via their preferred method, account was debited, order and pick up time were confirmed however upon arriving — it was closed and empty. Called their other location to ask politely what was going on but they hung up on me. Wasted my lunch break, on this. Now sitting here, hungry and $20+ dollars short….

The food is fabulous. I’m on a carb restricted diet, and I finally can safely enjoy vietnamese food as they serve very yummy cauliflower rice.I highly recommend the “Bowl “which you can mix and match chicken, beef or pork with various vegetables. Hands down among the best vietnamese food ,I’ve had in Socal..The bun mai ,my partner had was heavenly (had a small bite)was to die for.The Pho superb, along with the egg rolls. The server Kalie is a true gem,she remembers my order and is a very welcoming and friendly soul.Im amazed at how efficiently she fills orders and does it all with a bubbly smile.Love the outdoor seating in the back, very chill and perfect for having a quiet meal. This is my kind of eating experience as I abhor overpriced crowded noisy restaurants.Mai Lai Kitchen is definitely Michelin worthy.

One of the better tasting banh mi in the area, reminiscent of Lee’s sandwiches before they went down hill — and also one of the most reasonably priced.

Ordered delivery and it was perfect! I created my own bowl and the portions are really generous. Did I mention how fresh everything was? I couldn’t have been happier! I’m a foodie and eat at all the best places in L.A., My Lai is one of my go-to’s.

I found a new favorite spot!!!! Make your own salad at a very great price. Super healthy, colorful and tasty. The girls were very friendly and helpful with the selections. I’m obsessed. Go check them out you’ll be coming back. They also have vegan options

I love this place and plan to be back. We were venturing out from Echo Park to Culver City. We decided to try this place because it sounded a bit unique and because we LOVE Vietnamese food. The bowl scene has been amazing. We have had lots of Korean bowls around Echo Park and Hollywood area, but never a Vietnamese bowl.

The service was great and friendly. Since we had never been before they offered us some helpful hints with sauces and toppings. Printed menus are by the door if you are trying to build your own bowl.

The food was fresh and perfect. The pickled items were just the right amount of crunch and everything I picked melded well together.

They have a points system as well- which is always a perk.

Like I said we plan to be back soon. I hope they are able to duke it out with COVID! Best of luck guys.

I really like this spot. It’s a quick, easy, build a bowl type of place. Every time I’ve been in, they always have a line, plus nonstop Togo orders! Even so, service is always quick and efficient. I also like going here because the bowls are really large and I can save mine over two meals I got my order Togo but they have both a small indoor and cute outdoor seating area.

Also, as a note to customers: please be respectful! I know it’s hard to control yourself, but please do not stick your hand over the glass at service counters. I used to work at a similar style place, and this is a rude and unsanitary thing people do. Maybe you don’t even notice, but if you go into a restaurant that has a glass counter, please try to control yourself from reaching over. Thanks!

Not a fan of the banh mi, tofu bites, and impossible pork egg rolls. Banh mi was way too dry. Tofu bites were over fried and lacked flavor. Impossible pork egg rolls were way too salty. Sadly, the BYO bowl was the only redeeming dish from the order. Really wanted to like this place but I can’t recommend it. Perhaps a different experience for dine in?
