This restaurant is the best for Thai food. My experience has been great except for recent visit where I had a horrible waitress named Joy. She was extremely rude and unpleasant. I came in on a very cold winter day in January and she kept opening the front door of the restaurant and leaving it open. I had to ask her to close it as I was freezing. She seem annoyed that I even asked. Then to make things worse when I finished eating my lunch, she refused to bring me the proper take home containers. She kept bringing the containers that were for small portions. She even told me to break my satay sewers in half to fit it in the box. My experience with her was horrible and would not recommend coming in on a Monday when she’s there. However I would highly recommend coming in when Ying is there. She is exceptional and has made my experience amazing every time I’ve visited.

Ordered tonight for New Year’s Eve on DoorDash. Food was ready on time, actually a little early. Lady at the front was super nice. We got sesame chicken and Thai fried rice. Doordash doesn’t give the option for sides of peanut sauce, and I love to put it on fried rice. I offered to purchase a few sides but they gave it for free. This was our first time trying the food here and it was so fresh and amazing. Can’t wait to go back!

After some shopping in the area, my mom and I were craving Thai and decided to try a new place. When we opened the menu, we were super excited to discover Samui is the sister restaurant to our usual go-to, Bangkok Room in Ansonia! We were met with the same quality in food and service that we know and love. The beef pan fried and the pad Thai were delicious. I will definitely return when I find myself in the area wanting Thai!

Best green curry I’ve ever had. My husband and I cannot go anywhere else. We travel a lot and the only better Thai food we’ve ever had was on Fairbanks Alaska.

This place was okay, everything was fresh tasting but it took too long due to their theatrics with the straw roses and the food was a little bland. The dressing was fairly flavorless aswell. Tewir rice is 10/10

Overall their food is very good in quality and flavor but my family member got served a raw chicken wing last time we came. Besides that one instance, every dish we ordered was delicious and authentically Thai. The atmosphere is very comforting with Thai decor and low lighting. Also I hate to say it but the service is not very good. I know the staff is trying very hard to manage the business, but I always either get served something I didn’t order, don’t get served something I did order, or can’t find any staff when I need something. If the service was up to par I would give it 5 stars.

Absolutely blown away. The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are hands-down the best I’ve ever had—and I’ve eaten them in Thailand and NYC. The soups? Perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying. The spring rolls and dumplings? A flawless 11 out of 10. Whatever magic these folks are working in that kitchen, it’s something rare and special. I’m a tough food critic, but this place absolutely nails it. Every new dish I tried had its own unique flavor, the presentation was beautiful, and the entire dining experience was memorable from start to finish. Keep doing what you’re doing—you’ve created something extraordinary.
