It was the best tea experience my friends and I have had.

We made a reservation with The Kate Pearl Tea room in Westminster for one of my best friends Bachelorette activities, and it far exceed our expectations. We booked the “Royal Tea” service which includes the most food options. The tea selection was extensive and every pot we had was delicious; my personal favorite was the White Wedding. The food was honestly incredible, I am gluten free (unfortunately) and the chef made gf scones from scratch, and it was FANTASTIC. That scone was probably the best gluten free item I’ve had in the United States, on top of the scone, I was also given my own gf tea sandwiches and sweets. Our group was so in love with the tomato bisque soup they served, that we were still gushing over it the next day. The entire staff went above and beyond for our Bride-to-Be, and my dietary needs; I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. I absolutely recommend going, even just to purchase some of their delicious loose leaf tea.

It was such a pretty place and the service was so great! The food and tea was really good and I could go there everyday and never get bored! The waitress was so nice and was really helpful. I would 100% recommend going! Me, my cousins, my sister, and grandmother absolutely loved it!

I absolutely adore this tea room! My mother and I frequently visit. The staff is very sweet and explains each menu for that day and always different. The little sandwiches are so flavorful and pretty and the variety of teas they carry is wonderful. Royal tea is the way to go. They give you a scone, charcuterie board, soup, salad, specialty drink, along with your tier of sandwiches ,savories, and sweets and to top it off a small icecream or sorbet at the end with a chocolate pearl. I absolutely love this place and my mom says its our thing now

We came the weekend after Mother’s Day and got to try their Mother’s Day tea. It was really nice that they offered four types of teas, mostly fruit based and two were caffeinated and two were not. You were encouraged to switch between the flavors vs stay with the same type of tea.

This was the first afternoon tea where received a fruit and cheese board, salad, chilled fruit-yogurt soup before receiving the warm, lovely scone and the three tiers of sandwiches and sweets. Many of the sandwiches had some fruit like a slice of strawberry or peach in addition to the meat for spread. The tea china and presentation were wonderful as was our waitress. I thought it was a great value for the price.

There was one bathroom on the level. Parking was around the corner or we parked farther down the street.

Still in aww of how cute this place is. My friend and I traveled to the Kate Pearl Tea room for the first time today and had the best time. We were greeted by the hostesses who seated us at a nice corner table. We arrived right on time for our reservation. We were later greeted by Ty Jenkins who made our time very special. He was super nice, friendly and had a wonderful personality. He provided an overview of the tea menu, offered great recommendations and shared that we were in for a treat. Ty was right. This afternoon tea was an experience. From scones, soup, salad and an assortment of sandwiches and sweets, we were so impressed. We enjoyed the Royal Tea experience and it did not disappoint. We can’t wait to come back. The reservation process was easy and smooth. I made a reservation online and received a call the next business day. The reservation staff were incredibly helpful and super nice. Just talking to the nice woman over the phone, she got me even more excited to come for tea. Reservations are highly encouraged! Ample parking and the tea room is in a lovely neighborhood.

Most delicious scones and tea in the entire world. Delicious salads and soups, too. I love how informative the menu is. It helps a lot, especially for newbies. They have the cutest, nicest staff. Best tea sets! Cute location! Oh, my gosh! It’s unjust to give this anything but 5 stars.

One nice lady said my boyfriend and I were cute and she gave us extra scones and clotted cream to go We have been back multiple times. We love and adore this place! It will make your tummy warm and overstuffed, your heart cozy, and your mind filled with delicious new memories! When you think you’re full, they serve a soup and salad, then tiers of sandwiches and desserts, and then give you ice cream with the check! The recipes are so comforting and creative. It’s a beautiful setting. The combination of heart and history makes everything here so lovable. It can’t be replicated!

This place inspired me to make my own scones and create my own cucumber sandwich recipe! The history of the building and the business made me cry. It’s very special. I am posting pictures of the menu and the story behind the tea shop! Pictures don’t do it all justice!!!

(P.S., For fellow y2k-born girlies: live your best Style Savvy life and enjoy tea and goodies here with others!)

The Kate Pearl Tea Room is my FAVORITE place in Westminster. I am a passionate tea drinker, a teacup collector, and a huge fan of all things dainty, elegant, and old fashioned so everything from the wallpaper to the charming old house architecture is a delight. The teas are the best teas I’ve ever had anywhere and are so perfectly balanced with delicate but rich flavors. I went once with my mom last year at Christmas and once with my husband for my birthday and both times were simply delightful. The customer service has always been top notch, the food is delicious and also adorable, and again, the teas are brewed to perfection. My husband and I stop in occasionally just to pick up scones as well since their scones are fresh and fluffy and always have the most delicious flavors. It is very hard not to buy every tea and scone possible whenever we go! I don’t know what all the reviews trashing on the customer service and food quality are talking about – again, I’ve been many, many times and have never ever had even a slightly underwhelming experience.

3 stars for the lacking service and tiny serving sizes.

“Full Afternoon Tea” Service.

I reserved a table for two at the Westminster location, and arrived on time for the final seating at 3pm. My tea guest and I were seated promptly and given tea menus by the receptionist, but we did not have our server, Jonas, come and take our orders until 3:15. He was quite reticent and didn’t offer recommendations, but my guest and I are familiar with tea so it didn’t matter.

We received our tea pots and scone at 3:25, along with a small bowl of whipped cream that they called ‘clotted cream’. Jonas asked if we would like cream, sugar, or honey with our teas, and I requested cream and sugar. I’m not sure why it wasn’t brought to the table with the tea. The scone was warm, and strawberry matcha flavored. It was rather dry and hard at the bottom, likely from being kept warm in the oven.

We did not receive any cream, sugar, or visit to the table in the time it took to finish almost two full cups of tea and most of our scone. My tea guest eventually got up and requested sugar & additional whipped cream from the receptionist.

(Of note, there were only two other tables occupied when we arrived, and they both left before we even received our teas.)

At 3:44, our second course arrived, and we AGAIN requested the sugar/extra cream, and received a bowl of sugar cubes with an apology that the kitchen was out of ‘clotted cream’. Fair enough. My tea “Nut Crunch” was much improved with a bit of sugar, although it lacked the cream I never received.

Almost as soon as our soups were served, Jonah came back with small bowls of salad; extras from the kitchen. The “Carrot Ginger” soup topped with apple chips, was very salty and vinegary, while my guest enjoyed it as is, I crumbled in part of a sugar cube to make it palatable. As for the complementary salads, I’m not sure if dressing was supposed to be served alongside, but they were without a drop.

The third course, the sweet, savory, and ‘fruit’ tiered plate came out at about 3:55. Jonas gave us a faithful recitation of all the tiers, and then left. Truthfully, most of the items on the plates were delicious, albeit extremely tiny– one or two small bites each.

My tea guest didn’t care for the strange icing on the carrot cake, while I didn’t like the “Birds’ Nest” cookie. (shredded wheat cereal & chocolate, with coconut creme eggs)

The ‘Texas Caviar’ crostini and carrot cake square were both unremarkable, as was the orange slice and half of a strawberry.

The best bites were the cucumber dill open-faced sandwich, the ham and cheese puff pastry, blueberry cheese panini and the raspberry topped pudding/crema.

Additionally with our check, we received a spoonful of ice cream topped with a chocolate pearl.

In conclusion, my tea guest and I greatly enjoyed the TEA, and notably not much else with this tea service.

Most of the sweets & savories could fit on a soup spoon with room to spare. Soup was gone in 3 bites. Salad was undressed. No milk or sugar on the table. Insufficient whipped cream, and no other spreads for two people’s scones.

Additionally, after this experience I checked the images of the tea service on both the Kate Pearl website and their google page and found them to show plates with far larger portions. Four savories per person instead of 3, and sandwiches made with TWO slices of bread– a luxury we were not privy to. I included those pictures with mine.

I was embarrassed to have brought my tea guest to such a disappointing service. Next time I will just go to the tea at Beans in the Belfry, since they actually serve what Kate Pearl has in it’s pictures.
