Social Profile:

A tribute to Good Food Restaurants founder John Heaphy’s grandfather (Nonno in Italian). In 1918, Marco Sciortino arrived at Ellis Island from Palermo, Sicily with little else but hope and a desire to pursue his vision of the American Dream: a family to love and celebrate life with, a good job, a nice garden, and a modest house with a cellar. In Lima, Nonno found all those things. His cellar- filled with mason jars of the summer harvest and fresh tomato sauce- was a place of love, fun and warmth, where family gatherings and celebrations were enjoyed. Join us below Casa Lu Al to enjoy the warm hospitality of Nonno’s Cellar.

We had the Walleye, which was cooked very well. The side salad was good with just enough toppings. The reason for the 4 w
as that the desserts left something to be desired. Italian restaurants, in my opinion, should have a top-notch tiramisu. What I had tasted like frozen. I can honestly say I make a better one than that.
Our server was amazing .

The stars are for the atmosphere, love the brick and tile on the floor. The people were nice, however, our waitress definitely needed more training. (Reaching her arm across us, instead of walking around, very slow to refill our glasses etc.). The presentation of the food is awful, we waited way too long to get get it and once it was finally brought to our table, 3 out of 4 of our meals were cold! Even the baked potato was cold!!! I got the Italian beef and noodles and it was not good at all, the food overall was average at best. We were excited to try your restaurant but left really disappointed to say the least. To their credit, they credited each of us $20….so we still paid over $35 for a subpar meal. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I went to Nonno’s Cellar for our valentines dinner. And it was delicious! It did take a little bit for the food to come out. BUT everything tasted fresh and was hot. The atmosphere in there was amazing for a 1 on 1 intimate date.
Could probably do with a few less tables to make it feel more private but it is a business after all.

Otherwise absolutely loved our time there and it will definitely be back again!

I had Linguine with red shrimp sauce. It was excellent. My wife had 4 cheese ravioli that was very good. The house garden salad with the meal was also fresh and very good. Topped off the meal with cheesecake. Definitely plan on returning.

A rare, unique, premium, dining experience in Lima, Ohio. This is the perfect spot for “date night” with incredible food and an even more incredible atmosphere. There’s nothing else even close to it in Lima. Even more impressive is the competent, professional service. It’s a great way to spend a nice evening and highly recommended.

I highly recommend you check out Nonno’s Cellar! The atmosphere is amazing! My salad and soup were delicious. We ordered the chocolate peanut butter cake and some coffee to top off a great meal. Such a perfect place to meet friends for dinner. We will be back!

I would give this 0 stars if I could. We had a reservation at 6:00pm for 10. Multiple times while waiting the hostess said we are trying to find room for your party. They took at least 15 people from different parties down stairs and at 6:20pm we decided to cancel our reservation and leave. I would love to review the food, however we didn’t get to try any. This is a huge deterrent to our family to ever go back and try it. lf you have a large party I would suggest going elsewhere.

Our evening started, Rocky when a hostess told us that we would have a 30 minute wait when we had a reservation because they gave our table away. I will tip my hat Alecia then came up to us and said she would get us the next table. comped an appetizer for the mistake. The night only got better we had Quinten as a server you should ask for him. He gave amazing service and made our experience one that felt like we were in Italy. This is definitely one of the top 2 places to eat in Lima

Kara Brinkley does not know how seating works in a restaurant and it shows. I used to be a hostess and yeah it happens when u have a huge party that needs multiple tables smashed together, u will have to wait longer. they can’t just refuse ppl coming in with smaller parties because ur large party is coming in later…. u couldn’t wait longer than 20 mins? I doubt her party was able to find anywhere else that could seat them asap LOL. For her to give a one star review over that is ridiculous, it’s a new business… she better have had gotten food poisoning to write a one star review. amazing food. amazing service. 10/10 would recommend.

We made reservations for our anniversary dinner and were taken to our table immediately upon arrival. Our waitress was Kendall and she greeted us and asked about drinks. We each ordered a sweet tea and she said it would take a minute because she had to go upstairs to get it, which was no big deal and she brought us waters as we waited. We ordered “the feast.” As we waited, Kendall brought out bread, which was nothing special and she came back a little later because she forgot to give us butter with our bread. I then had to ask for silverware because we still didn’t have any, again, no huge issue. Our appetizer and salads both came out before we had gotten our teas. The bruschetta was really flavorful, but the bread wasn’t toasted at all so it was a little disappointing. The salad was ok, but we each had to pick some of the food out because it wasn’t the best quality. It definitely needed salt and pepper. Next came out the rigatoni, meatballs and sausage and peas and garlic. All of it needed some seasoning, but the meatballs were the best part. The sauce was definitely on the sweet end, but again, it was not bad overall. Lastly, our dessert came out which was mini cannoli and lemon cake. The cake was very light and flavorful. The atmosphere is beautiful, but there was a lot of traffic and many people asking where the restroom is. I’m not sure if this traffic was from the main restaurant or the pins place or what, but it was a bit distracting to be right in the line of traffic. We would try again as I expect with a new restaurant to have some hiccups!
