TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

This is my first time ever trying Dave’s Hot Chicken and I must say the extra hot slider combo was so very delicious. It had flavor all the way through and also the Mac and cheese is very cheesy and the best I’ve had at a fast food restaurant A++++ Thank you so much. Caesar is so awesome what a blessing he went beyond and above to make this experience even better. I recommend this place if you love hot spicy chicken with a great crunch and very delicious flavor.

I recently visited Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time, excited to try the popular Nashville-style hot chicken. The restaurant had a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Ordering was simple, and the food came out fairly quickly.
The chicken itself was definitely fresh, crispy, and cooked well. I liked the texture and how juicy it was, but unfortunately, I found it lacking in salt. Even with the spice level I chose, the overall seasoning felt a bit underwhelming, making the chicken taste a little bland to me. The sauce helped add some flavor.
The fries were decent, and the portions were fair for the price. While I can see why so many people love this place, it just didn’t quite hit the spot for me. If you enjoy spicy chicken with a strong sauce component, you might love it, but for my personal taste, I don’t think I’d go out of my way to have it again. Still, the quality is there, and it’s worth trying if you’re curious!

Love some good fried chicken and I’ve been wanting to try this new place around the corner from our house. We’ve heard so many good things about Dave’s Hot Chicken and it was time to give it a shot for ourselves.
Picked a Saturday morning and every other restaurant was packed with lines out the doors. Don’t was nice to walk in to Dave’s and find there were a few tables open and it was order at the counter. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Shows their training was specific to be helpful and attentive. The menu is well laid out on the wall and easy to read too!
We opted for the two strip combo meal. It came with two sides and we chose fries with Mac n’ cheese. Sat down and was impressed all the tables were clean and liked the layout of the dining room.
Wow ! When they delivered my food I was blown away at the size of those chicken strips on the two sliders. Then I took a bite. So juicy and loved the crispy outside texture. I don’t like real hot so the mild spice was perfect for me. My wife had the medium and said she could have easily bumped up to the hot spice level. She’s likes hot. The fries were crunchy and the seasoning was awesome!
We will be back for sure!!

We finally got to try this place, so glad we did. I had the 2 slider meal w/fries. The sandwiches were amazing. They came out hot. The flavor was breathtaking. I got the medium heat, it was just right. Not too spicy & just the right seasoning. The slaw, sauce, & pickles; perfection. The chicken was not too fried either, good sized breast. The fries were great too. Dipped in the sauce, even better. They even offer extra sauce, no charge; love that. My wife ordered the 1 slider, perfect size for her. She’s not crazy about spice so she got the lowest heat which was perfect for her. She also got the Lucky Charms strawberry shake. I wasn’t crazy about it, I’m a chocolate guy; but she liked it. She said it was a bit runny though. Just loved this place, will definitely be back; & will bring our boys.

Heard the hype for this place so I went to check it out with my family. I thought it was overrated and kind of high in price for what was given. Chicken and fries were crispy but the chicken was kind of bland. Atmosphere was laid back. Staff was really not helpful as far as explaining menu items.

We used the website to place our order for pick up. It was very easy to navigate and use. Our order was ready to go by the time we arrived which was very shortly after placing the order. They were fast and all of our orders were accurate. This was only our second time having Dave’s Chicken, our first time we had the medium heat which was a tad on the disappointing side as far as flavor, although my kids really enjoyed it! That’s what my kids got this time around since they liked it. My husband and I decided to try the Hot this time. It was yummy although almost a bit too spicy for me but it was still enjoyable. Lol! The chicken meat itself is SUPER juice and tender. Just amazing!
I decided to substitute my fries for the kale slaw for the first time since I can’t have fries.. unfortunately it doesn’t have any flavor and was quite sad. But, I added black pepper and a couple slashes of Apple Cider Vinegar and, OMG, it was amazing!!!
Also, I’d like to mention how much I appreciate that I have the option to order a side tender that comes with bread and pickles. That’s what I got as my meal last time since, again, I can’t have fries. It was the perfect size meal for me.
The quality and juiciness of the chicken alone will make us want to come back for a 3rd time.

The food is absolutely wonderful, the heat doesn’t hit you at once but it’s slowly builds so keep that in mind. I found that the extra hot was definitely manageable and we will try to go up a level next time.
What’s surprise me with how tasty the chicken is, often times with food like this it’s all about the heat, but this was so well balanced.

Food was delicious and service was great! Josh was friendly and very helpful. Food took longer than expected and the POS system confused me. I thought I pressed to tip 10%, which I think is generous for a fast casual with counter service, but the tip ended up being 20%. I didn’t want to be difficult and the service was good so I let it go. I’ll have to be more careful next time.
