Do you all run the one on Monroe as well? Seems to be the same stuff and the same experience.
Thanks for being one of the best, in my opinion the best, Toledo pizza for so long.
I mostly grew up eating from the Arlington location .The sauce was homemade by a very nice elderly woman. I also remember the location on broadway with the window where you could see the woman work. We re talking 40 years or so ago. I never noticed change in that awesome pizza I was thrilled to share with all my out of town visitors. It was nearly a half inch thick. The dough had crisp crust and an almost doughy inside
It was covered in a sweet pizza sauce and the cheese was amazing. It was at least an 1/8 inch thick or more. It pulled like strings when you separated a slice. We all thought it was a custom blend. I can’t stress how amazing this pizza was.
Unfortunately the good old days are over. Tonight’s pizza was paper thin and the the crust was like a cracker with a hair line of cheese on top. I was there to pick it up when it came out of the oven When I got home there was no stretch to the cheese half the slices had already separated on there own. It’s very disappointing when a legend fails but for the first time in decades I’m going to look for a new pizza restaurant I’m not gonna use full names because that would be rude and I do wish this business well but there’s a well known “in” this town and also a restaurant on the west side with an “A” that is said to have ties to the ginos family. Bless you Ginos family but its definitely time to try and go back to the way things used to be done…
The family usually eats the whole thing tonight they wanted something else. Sorry but the oy good part about the experience was that the young ladies in the front of the store were very nice and appeared focused on their tasks
Thank you.
