I grew up in Gothenburg and remember going to Steve’s cafe with my Grandma and getting the open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. (1960’s!) Fantastic memories! I stop at T Walker’s for that same roast beef sandwich every time I’m in Gothenburg. They have used the same recipe all these years later, and I’m never disappointed! Don’t mess with a great thing!!
Their pie is fantastic too!

My husband and I both had the roast beef special that was plentiful and delicious. Couldn’t eat the handmade biscuit but looked delish. We finished off sharing a coconut cream slice of pie that was different and tasty! Would definitely return if we are in town.

Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Tara took our order. She was very friendly and helpful. Our order came out perfect, exactly as ordered. My husband and I had the same thing, chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken was perfect, as was the gravy and the servings were generous. The mashed potatoes were authentic mashed potatoes, not instant and they too were wonderful. I devoured my dinner roll and requested a carry out container for the remainder of my meal. My husband wiped his plate clean. When we came in there were only two cinnamon rolls left. I immediately grabbed those when I went back to examine the contents of the refrigerated pies case. We love cinnamon rolls and I will have to come later back to report on those. Two gentlemen were also visiting the pie case at the same time I was looking. They were hoping to find a banana pie, maybe banana cream or peanut butter banana cream and were very disappointed to find it had sold out for the day. It was their favorite. But they assured me they would not be leaving without everyone in their group of four having a slice of pie before they left. I was told they drove 50 miles once a week to eat at T. Walkers. So, of course we also ordered pie to go. I ordered cherry and my husband ordered peach. I’m very partial to fruit pies. As other reviewers have noted this is a great place. It is not “fine dining” but it is mighty FINE FOOD, in a small town diner and I am certain if I were to come back anywhere near this area I would make the effort to come by to eat here again. Very plain clean decor, one wall of booths to the right as you enter, two large semicircular booths at each front side, groupings of tables for large parties down the middle of the room and clusters of tables for four or less elsewhere in the single large room.
***The cinnamon rolls were just as good as the rest of our meal. We heated them up in our microwave the next morning and they were delicious. Just the right amount of density and moisture with plenty of cinnamon and frosting.

By far, one of the best places we ate on our trip. I had mega club sandwich. Tons of meat and warm and toasty and crazy delicious. One brother had Philly cheesesteak and it was awesome. Other brother had chicken fried chicken and crust was amazing (don’t let egg and cracker crust throw you it is amazing). We got two slices of pecan pie and one chocolate cream for road and all amazing. Great, I mean great food!

Exactly the kind of place you want to stop at. I had the steak sandwich with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. It was the best I’ve ever had anywhere.
Pie was amazing. Only thing I would change is improving the quality of the Mac & cheese. Try using something like a real rue and cheddar. Overall our meal was amazing.

Really good home style cooking. Tons of menu items to choose from. Have daily specials. Traveling through Nebraska on I80W. We stopped in for Sunday lunch. Had the turkey and roast beef dinners with coconut pie for dessert. Possibly the most tender & juicy turkey & roast we’ve ever had!!

First timers. Wow, food was great, and the Pie is why you need to show up. All the flavors you want. Peanutbutter (cup) cheese cake. Outstanding. Strawberry had the biggest Strawberrys on it. It was so good I almost forgot to take some photos. If anything show up for the pie.

If you’re traveling through, don’t listen to the reviews, just get food at a gas station or keep going. Over priced and underperformed. Not sure how you make a turkey melt taste like cat food smells, but they nailed that. My wife got ill after having their fish sandwich (fried cod). The restaurant also smelled like soiled diapers. Stuck around to try the food based on the crazy positive reviews, but there was no merit to the seeming mass appeal of this place.
Response to the owner’s clap back.
I guess you’ve never suffered through a meal at your in-laws for Thanksgiving? Food was made, and at the time was not worth wasting despite the lack of quality. It wasn’t until later that my wife got sick… which I would think as someone in food service would be more apologetic for rather than lash out. The whole point of reviews is so that people can get unbiased feedback. Which if you think I’m crazy and your business stands on its own, why indulge it?
Neither of us exclaimed to our server how good the food was, and we tip well because it’s not their (server’s) fault that you cut quality. If you can’t tip well don’t eat out, but in this case I’m just saying don’t eat there.

This place was awesome! Quick meals that were hearty and delicious! The prime rib sandwich is a must! They have a huge selection of pies. I wanted to try them all but ended up getting the raisin sour cream pie and it was to die for! Friendly staff and great prices! If for some reason you find yourself in Gothenburg.. make sure you eat here!
