Great experience at Johnny Boys. Cozy little place. My wife and I shared the burger and fries. Loved the fresh vegetables and plenty of fries that are clearly homemade. Our server was on point as well. We will be back as we hear their breakfast is great.

Review for the new ownership of 2025!
If you havent already decided, they kept almost everything you know about Johnny Boys together. No major swaps of staff or the menu or the decor or the hours. The new owners understand the identity and dont look like they have any plans to flip the place onto something its not.
You will find your food is made the same way with portions matching the prices.
For this review it was within the first week of the reopening. They have some new wait staff so there are a few things for everyone to coordinate with, but thats with any new job with a newish team.
It is absolutely worth returning to!

Decided to swing in on a Sunday to grab breakfast, obviously with it being a Sunday it was busy. However the staff is seasoned and we were in maybe 15 min. Tops.
The food was incredible, and service was very fast. We had our orders in and food dropped off withing another 15 min. Plenty of seating and the tables are spaced enough that it isn’t super loud.
All in all a great experience! Would absolutely come back!

Great food, service, and atmosphere. Lots of parking on the side and in the back. Always a warm welcome when you come in. Very cozy, but spacious inside. Love the large stools at the bar area. Lots of stuff on the walls. Great conversation starters. I had the gut buster. It was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. The pancakes were out of this world. Im definitely going back, and would highly recommend if your in the rutland area.

Best breakfast I’ve had in a long, long time. I ate simple this morning but felt like a king. Great service eating at the bar and the best eggs and homefries ever! When the food is good what puts a breakfast over the top is the condiments ….. Chulula and orange marmalade!

Review after new ownership.
Everything was wonderful, from the food to the service. Except one thing. Where’s the heat?
It was so frigid in there that we had to keep our jackets on the whole time and we were still uncomfortably cold.
I love this place and will be back, but sadly with a blanket.

Well the food is a bit of a mixed bag. They do have a lot of innovative things like pesto omelette, but the pancakes were very thin, and the sunny side up eggs that we got were completely overcooked.
So there was some good and bad, service was great, pleasant enough environment. I’d recommend that if you like your eggs cooked normally, that you tell them.
But the pesto omelet was very good, definitely give that a try.

Coffee is hot and delicious. Wait staff is always prepared with a refresher. Atmosphere is playfully nostalgic and yet homey. Food was prompt and hot. I got the Philly cheese omelette which a “regular” recommended. I am SO glad I took that recommendation, so I pass it along to you. You’re welcome. Grandfather got waffles which he said were delicious.

The food here was phenomenal! The maple sausage waffle was crispy and amazing! The maple mascarpone French toast was decadent and delightful. The sausage gravy was full of flavor and the biscuit was tender and just perfect. The staff was quite responsive and attentive. This was the best breakfast meal I have had in a long time!
